In 1963, the Cold War between the US and the USSR escalates and the threat of nuclear war emerges. Realizing that humanity could be wiped off the face of the earth. President John Kennedy orders a secret plan to ensure the survival of humanity. A group of scientists creates the spaceship Ascension and selects 600 volunteers to travel to Proxima Centauri. The mission is to colonize the planet, but the travel time will take hundreds of years, so the generations will succeed each other.
