I'm with Rough when it comes to wargames admin. The less the better. My 10 Wargame Challenge games are listed on a scrap of paper. And I own all of the games I play.
Great show, I have been neglecting the traditional war games I have because of have got into Warhammer 40k, I think Jester touched on a very good idea of buying a game for yourself and a second copy that you could sell on later as an investment, if you got two copies of Combat! when they came out, you could sell the second copy now for a profit and put that towards volume 2 or 3, plus when a game comes out and looks good, buy it now because once they sell out you don’t know if they will be reprinted.
As a data point at 1:52:00 idjester says we come to see the PERSON play the game, not the game itself. I think that may be true after a viewing and you like the guy, but honestly what brought me in the first place was looking for live plays of a GAME that I want to watch someone else go through to see what I might be missing, as I solo 99.9% of the time… Also for Rough, the online mistakes help ME learn, as I catch things as well as I sit with the rulebook and watch 🙂 .
To each their own as far as BGG logging goes. Some will choose to do extensive logging, others none at all – and others anywhere along the spectrum.
Live or edited – same thing. One choice will be right for some and another choice will be right for others.
To diminish others who make a different choice than I do seems arrogant of me. Rants can easily go on too long, even if just a shtick (which one can never be sure of with some ranters….) – and can turn more new viewers off than it can attract new viewers. No one knows for sure…..
Rough – you are doing well – 5.29K subscribers with 446 videos posted – less than 10% of the vids posted by others who have fewer subscribers. You, the person, attract viewers with your personality and your approach to video presentation. You be you !!!
I really like this 🤪👑😘
…because, while board games are fun, life comes first…
Great show!
Good discussion of a curious topic
