Pay to win can feck off in all it's forms.
Ahh I missed the premiere. 🙁 oh well but Atleast I’m watching g the video
maybe not P2W but it's still got a cash grab shop, no?
So… It's pay to win.
Just kidding, looking forward to the stream.
Could someone whom generally doesn't play in guilds and such enjoy this game? Which is to say, could I play it like an RPG with some occasional social interactions, dungeoning, raids, and stuff? I always got intimidated by Guild systems in MMO games, while I love the genre, sometimes I just want to kick back and play another game instead of the guild demanding I devote my life to the MMO and only the MMO
I wish BDO had that rested XP boost they way you describe. but I think they have a AFK xp earning thing… <.< not being kicked for AFK, is the best part of BDO…
One thing I dislike from some MMO cash shops, unlimited HP, Mana pots. you need to craft a ton of pots, watch your weight in some games, but then the guy bought a single item to maintain full HP… But, I don't PVP, so these don't bother me! This is a "convenience" option I think CAN be P2W… and I've had team member in games with all the bells and whistles, and I benefited from them being alive the whole time, so… LOL
Either way, I can't get the game now, kinda wish after watching your videos, But I'll have time to watch you play to see what is really in the game. If I can get back into the Korean MMO racket knowing what it's like… I will give this game a shot when I can!!!
No PTW until 2021.
What's up with Blunty and the gang signs on the thumbnail?
A big part of MMOs are about look, feel, and immersion. For many players (including myself) standing around in a city and seeing players with cool gear tells a story about them. The raids they've done, the content they've beaten… seeing players with better looking gear obtained from the cashshop cheapens the feeling of awe and immersion. Having a cashshop at all (even consumables) gives the company the incentive to make existing, in-game-earnable items not as good looking as those sold on the store (since that's a revenue source). A simple model of buying the game + monthly fee aligns the interests of the company with the player, as they want people to keep playing month-after-month.
What is wrong with pay to win? People who hates pay to win are 0eople with lots of time in their hands. I work, i have kids and i have family to feed.. I dont mind paying for boosters and etc..
I haven't had you recommended in years…actually makes me happy ❤️
I rather this than monthly. A lot of us can afford that ;~;
I would prefer travel tokens, rested xp tokens, boost tokens, etc.. vs cosmetics options .. just me personally. I generally hate cash shops in games .. .mainly because I always buy the shit and regret it every time. lol
thank you for debunking all these haters and click-baiters with FACTS.
all "Three" ?? Well isn't that a "Shocker"
it is a personal preference, but a cash shop with only cosmetics without any kind of boosters or any other shit is extremely healthy for a game like this, especially it is new and people will literally quite easily if they add any p2w items
Is this for real p2w??? Fuck …. Are we gonna have one single good game these days?
Edit' edit : P2P
Lol
Anyone who has played MMOs with cash shops for a while has seen benign cash shops deteriorate over time from cosmetics only to mild conveniences to ever increasing amounts of "it's-not-P2W" major conveniences with new game systems introduced after the cash shop is in full bloom deliberately crippled to incentivize the conveniences.
I definitely agree with you that New World is not P2W now and won't be for a few months. After that? As always, we'll just have to wait and see but these games do tend to crank up their cash shops over time.
I like the game and will be playing the beta from hour one also and hope to keep playing it for a long time, but if it does turn to aggressive "conveniences" at some point, I'll quickly leave it just as I have left others for that very reason.
So in short the truth is: I don't know.
We all hope they won't go down the easy money path but, we simply don't know. That is the truth.
I still wont hop in day one because I still learn from past experience/history and I personally choose to wait.
I don't care about "missing" out or any other repeat of marketing bull trying to peer pressure or hype me into it.
Am I saying its pay to win? No. I basically said: Nobody really knows.
But I'm sure someone will be upset because well… modern times.
My comments are my opinions and usually differ from the mainstream, but I like to help out Blunty in this stupid youtube algorithm with my non important fact less opinions.
Love the matter of fact approach Blunty ….. I am super stoked for the game having bought WOW from day one and having tried all other MMO's …. having said this I also bought Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy for my Spectrum 48K in the early 80's so have watched the gaming scene evolve. I just hope Amazon have not cut any corners and are confident and bold enough to put in maximum effort. If they have New World could be truly epic.
Liking for the farty sounds.
(And the content I suppose)
I'm concerned about every game that's coming out now having some form of p2w strategy. But until someone actually has the game in their hands on the actual release(not even the alpha/beta) we don't know WHAT is going to be in the final game. They could have p2w all the way up to the release then drop it, or vice versa. They could wait a few months after the release, after they've gotten good reviews, then cram in loot crates/p2w. I'm pretty certain that a game in the last couple of years did JUST that.
