  1. This is a stretch: I’m watching the last airbender on Netflix and had the funny idea: idk if you remember but in like the third season they go to a play about themselves. How funny would it be if the actors from the 2010 live action film play the live action actors in the new series

  2. The recent live action revealed that there was a festival at one of the air temples and that’s why all the air nomads were in one place at the same time. Not sure if that means it’s cannon for the OG avatar

  3. Another point came from LoK. Aang married a Waterbender and in 3 attempts only produced 1 airbender…. technically 2 but for half the show Bumi was a non bender. If an airbender married a firebender then only produced either non benders or firebenders, she'd still have the Air Nomad blood but not the Airbending.

  4. 2nd theory: Saying that Azula is the only one that can do colored fire is false. Zuko produces a little bit of rainbow flames in one of the comics, and there was someone who did white flames in the Kyoshi novels.

  6. They actually have given an official explanation to Ty Lee's connection to Air Nomads in the official Avatar Roleplaying Game by Magpie Games.

In the game, the designers were allowed to flesh out the Roku era as playable era for the tabletop roleplaying game. All details were approved by the Avatar studio. As part of it, Sozin's sister, Princess Zeishan, is a member of a revolutionary movement of Fire Nobles influenced by the Guiding Wind. The Guiding Wind themselves were a revolutionary group of Air Nomads who believed that oppression stops enlightenment and felt all oppressive power structures in the world must be overthrown so everyone can reach enlightenment. Princess Zeishan had a lover, Rioshon, who was an air nomad. She taught Princess Zeishan Air Nomad fighting styles to help her learn how to fight. One of the techniques taught was chi-blocking. Thus, chi-blocking RETURNED to the Fire Nation.

Oh, what did I say? Returned. Yes! You see chi blocking was invented in the Fire Nation and stolen by Air Nomands. How? Well, it's complicated.

In the Yangchen novels, it's revealed the world is divided. After the Fire Lord and the Water Tribe Leaders backed a challenge to the Earth King's throne, the Earth King closed all trade. The Fire Lord and Water Tribes followed suite. Only Air Nomads were excluded since they were neutral. Eventually, trade reopened in special port cities and the people in charge became very powerful.

The one in charge of the Fire Nation was making a power play to take over, well, a lot of things. She made an island where she performed inhumane experiments to test the limits of bending. By drowning firebenders, she discovered combustion bending. By paying scholars to pour over air nomand chi maps, they invented chi blocking. They even employed (and maybe invented) earthbending hypnosis. To be clear, it is only stated combustion bending was explicitly invented here. The other things were implied to either have been invented or simply that she stole secrets to perform those techniques and reverse engineered it for her own agents. However, if the intent was chi blocking was invented there, then it's actually originated there. And Yangchen stole back the scrolls from the island afterwards. After taking down the bad guy, it's heavily implied her knowledge fell with her.

  7. I think Azula's fire being blue has to do less with perfectionism and more with rage. Other than maybe Zuko, she is the most angry, furious character in the whole show. Ozai is a powerful Firebender, but his mindset is that of a conquering soldier. Iroh is a powerful Firebender, but his mindset is that of a righteous protector, Zuko is a powerful Firebender, but his mindset is that of redemption and honour, Azula is the only one driven by pure rage.

  8. In the clips you show of her fighting, she's literally not even stepping on the ground!! I suspect that she IS an airbender just nobody was ever around to teach her. Also she is very aloof and meybe there's an argument to be made that she could have accidentally discovered flight like Zaheer did without knowing and it just looks like she's very nimble and light on her feet.

Regarding blue fire, blue fire is either a result of hotter flames or the substance producing it, notably arsenic which is extremely toxic.

  9. I think you're right about Tylee because even in LOK there are new sky bisons, this would mean that Appa or any other bison before the 100 years war found a partner. maybe this partner was with Tylee's ancestors at the moment of the attack? animals THAT big can't hide for a hundred years.

  10. What about the age difference between hama and katara’s mom. If they were looking for hama in the moment they went to the watertribe and killed katara’s mom, than hamma should have been already in het 60s and the firenation must have known this

  11. TBF, there were survivors of the initial assaults on the Air Temples but the Fire Nation then launched an extensive campaign to hunt down the remaining Benders. Not just the caves with relics.

Also, I dont think the Dragons would agree to this. Maybe if the dragons were tricked and didnt know what was happening

  12. I don’t really view the painted lady episode as a filler episode since it shows that even the spirits are troubled with the fire nations abuse and destruction of the world. It also shows how the spirits are wanting to help.

  13. The Wall, as in The MAGA wall, is actually a good idea becasue it's not to stop an invasion by tanks or artillery. It is to stop the flow of people trying to cross. Just regualar people, not soldiers.

Or are you implying that a single illegal immigrant has the destructive tower of a tank?

  14. they say that the avatar is a member of no single nation but the protector of the world, this means that while genetically Aang is the last air bender (proven by the fact that he had an air bender kid), Aang is not socially considered an Airbender, this means that he is not the last airbender. since it is the name of the show it must be someone relevant to the story so the best option would be Ty Lee. just a little idea to add to the theory. 😀

  15. Whoa. Never realized the visible fire is the effect of an atom losing energy. I remember the chem 101 courses and talk about dropping orbitals releases photons which may or may not appear on the visible light spectrum. The dots between that and fire just never connected in my head

  16. This is one of the changes that I found actually sensible in the LA one. All the Airnomads gather for the Comet, which is why it was much easier to wipe them all out at once. Even with that, youd probably have some stargglers, but not half as many

  17. So a theory I have that goes along with Ty Lee being a Air nomad is that her ancestors happened upon a airbender kid sometime during the purge. Maybe one that hadn't gotten their arrows yet. They then adopted them and raised them as their own child.

  18. Theres book evidence of some air nomads having fleed to the earth nation this is why in korra majority if not all of the people who became air nomads due to harmonic conversion where located in the earth kingdom
