  1. If I recall, the only cultural group at the time that made life-sized realistic human statues were the Greeks. And a document noting what was likely a statue of Alexander being found at the western reaches of Qin influence could've led to them coming across and acquiring greek statuary expertise. In fact greek artistry has heavily influenced traditional north indian artwork in bhuddist traditions. So the chinese could very well have come up with them on their own. But I feel it's likely the greeks were involved at some point even if it was just as an inspiration.
