Learned something new. I never thought about eating those flowers. I usually just leave them for the beneficial insects. Cool video.
"Eat well, live well: Secrets of healthy eating."
Thanks for the video. Are the tops bitter?
You want some greens with that sauce?
yummy
just subbed happy i found your channel love this ❤
Thx john
I'm in Las Vegas too and I love growing Amaranth because it takes the heat pretty well and you can overplant them. That you can thin them out as they start competing with each other. Then I eat what I thinned. I have to admit that I am still having a bit of a hard time not worrying about bugs in my food though because I often go out and kill caterpillars on them ha.
Do you eat the fig leaves? I notice they have a coconut smell to them, but i'v never eaten them.
Great content
So happy to see this topic since most of my lettuces and plants now in the low Arizona desert Zone 9B. I didn't know they were still edible.
That looks delicious! I'll have to try that myself.
Hi John. I am a Brit living in Thailand with my Thai wife and daughter. Soon we will build a house and I will retire on a small piece of land in my wife's hometown. Your videos are a great inspiration for how I want to spend my retirement and live my life in the future. Thank you so much!
seems really tasty, lots of good food
I read they were edible and harvested them the wrong way, they were so fibrous, thank you John, now I know.
What size is that instant pot??
So glad I watched this John – it's my first season growing and my seedlings indoors bolted…I had no idea the flowers were edible! so I composted them but next time I'll be ready to eat them 🙂 Thanks!
Hi John, Can you tell me where I can buy kale seeds that are HEAT tolerant so I can grow year round.
Oh boy John is this timely just noticed my pak choy is bolting and starting to flower. NOW I know what to do with them. So much helpful to me I was going to just chop it down and ferment and hope for another plant to come out of the stalk Thank you. PS I love my multi cooker too but no way would I fill up any pressure cooker to almost the top. I am an old gal and been using a pressure cooker for decades and decades .. that could clog the pressure valve you know and it is a safety concern. Have had one of them blow the lid right off a longostina and they replaced it for me very strange incident and have no idea what happened
This video was awesome John! I've really been wondering how good the instant pot is in terms of keeping the nutrients during the cooking process. I was under the impression that it gets too hot and causes the nutrients to be lost.
You're saying that's not true?
Thanks for the response! I would love to see more videos like this showing what and how you prepare and cook your harvests
