  1. Sir Lore, you have some very funny commenters on your site – starting with your droll review, a fine entertainment package that makes up for the pain of watching that damn-preposterous-amateur-hour-is-better-than-this-sabotage-of-Tolkien episode.

  2. The fact that stuff tried to happen here doesn't make me feel any better about the show. And I know no one expected me to feel better, but this can't be real. Can it really be that hard to take the appendices and make something coherent? Even if you meant to push a message, which I don't suggest doing, can you not have done better?

I hope this dies before season 2. I hope this is considered dead and is buried by the time anything good comes back into cinema and the world.

  3. My god stop bitching. People who are slaves to supposed canon have no creativity in them. They're condensing hundreds of years into a single story bc its a tv show, of course things will change. I'd rather have a LotR show than not, so just get over it, children.

  4. Can't decide what is crazier, either the way how this show is being done, or the fact that some people still defend it or assume it's only "Tolkien purists" that do not like it.
Even those normies that say that though, aren't watching it. They know, deep down, they know.

  5. The scene where the Numenorians ride over the tiny little bridge and then all the orcs magically fall down IN FRONT OF THEM WITHOUT BEING TOUCHED was so funny I watched it at least 5 times over. Woke my wife up and brought her out to see it. We laughed so hard that we finished the episode, laughing uproariously at the horrible acting and action.

    Just enjoy the chaos.

  6. You're not the only one who wants to leave civilization behind. With common sense and morals becoming extremely rare and everything I love getting destroyed by idiots, I want to become a hermit thousands of miles away from people. Put me in a cabin in the mountains with all of Tolkien's books and things I love, and I will be happy.

  7. I just realized that what Amazon is doing is truly cynical, they want us to actually root for evil (like established evil characters: orcs and Sauron) while at the same time they subvert good characters.

  8. Look I can’t stand this show and what they’ve done, but I also understand what Amazon has access to and that they had to get creative. Granted the creative decisions they’ve made SUCK, I still recognize that they just don’t have a lot of rights for a complete picture. When Tom Shippey left I gave up hope for the lore to not be broken.

  9. The lore breaks shouldn't matter anymore because the show runners clearly didn't care. They're injecting their own agenda into the writing and disregarding the books.

So just pretend this show exists in a seperate timeline.

  10. The ride of the rohirrim in the peter jackson movie was easily one of the best scenes in the history of cinema.

The rip off in the amazon show with the numenoreans in silly 3d printer plastic costumes riding over a field in a disorganized fashion while their diversity queen warches them from the back is basically just a parody of that scene.

  11. So this is the cheeto elf scene, awesome! I guess if I just turned my brain off, smoked a bowl and drank a 12 pack, maybe I could I watch this show and think it was the greatest thing ever, maybe that's the key. One would have to be drugged up on something to think this show was good or worth the time. Side note, you doing a livestream in the forest sounds like a cool idea.
