  1. The idea that the “fireball” might hit their ship is a trick of the editing, it is in fact travelling out of the west towards the east, and didn’t appear until after the gates of Valinor had opened.

  2. Zach said "I get that she's supposed to be a badass, but why is every single other elf here unable"….that's the million dollar question for me lol. All the other elves were literally standing and watching her instead of helping. It would have been a better scene if they were all working together to take down the ice troll IMO. Galadriel is a cool ass character, even in the Peter Jackson films you can see how powerful she is. So I think it's unnecessary for them to make everyone else around her weak and stupid to show that she's strong and intelligent.

I do have some issues with certain things, but like Zach said, I don't want to shit all over it. The visuals and the music were definitely the highlight of this first epsiode for me. I'm hoping that Galadriel has a good character arc throughout the series and develops into the character that I'm more familiar with from the books and the Peter Jackson trilogy. So far she's my least favorite part of the show.

I really appreciated Zach's input on this reaction. He pointed out some things that I missed while watching. He's selling himself short when he pretends he doesn't know the lore very well lol. And your friend Tom had some good insights as well, hoping to see him in some future reactions. Overall I enjoyed the first couple epsiodes. Glad you guys are reacting to it!

  3. As an avid reader of the books, I’m really enjoying the show to this point. As a minority, I thought the black elf was a nice touch that fit. It didn’t feel forced. And bc of that, I think it was a cool dynamic that I def wasn’t expecting.

  5. Arondir and Bronwyn I actually didn’t get the sense that they’ve actually been physical. It seemed very much a sort of unspoken relationship thing. I have a feeling they won’t get to actually be anything🥺

  6. I am not a purist, I haven’t read the books, I barely remember the movies, I only know that this world is highly renowned and I loved the middle earth video games, huge high fantasy fan even though I am not familiar with this staple series, I wanted to watch this show regardless, I think the production of this show is amazing, Bear mccreary always knocks the music out of the park, and with what little I know I am loving being in this world, and im surprised at how many references im picking up on. it’s so intriguing hearing people talk about this series, some hate it and some are very pleased. One day I might read the source materials or go back to the movies, but for now im gonna enjoy this show weekly along with the house of the dragon
