  1. I think the show did it better. In the book, Rob's wife isn't really a character (always entirely offscreen, has a different name, younger, never given anything for us to cling to), and she isn't at the red wedding. They took GRRM's awful scene and somehow managed to up it past 11.

  2. I love seeing a genuine reaction, makes me emotional every time.
When this aired for the first time I remember sitting through the credits (and a little while afterwards) with my jaw dropped, unable to move as my brain needed all my energy to try to process what I’d seen.
And then I was a mess for a bit. Hang in there man there’s still a lot of feelings to be felt and connections to be made!

  3. We've all been there. We all appreciate your openness with your feelings and not just just pausing and coming back composed. Watching you feel what we all felt, the heart break, I was right there with you. Yes, I cried too but my anger has passed. Take your time to enjoy and contemplate each episode.

  4. That was one of the best reactions I have seen to anything in Game of Thrones. I wanted to give you a hug and remind you that it's not real to make you feel better haha. I remember watching this scene for the first time.

  5. Took me two weeks to pull myself back together and get back to the book after reading this chapter. The show did it justice. Know that we've all been where you are and felt those feelings. Give yourself some time. I wish you good fortune in the wars to come ❀

  6. I always found it thoughtful of the producers to have made the closing credits totally silent, with no music whatsoever because what had just happened was literally breathtaking and people needed a break πŸ˜…πŸ‘ŒπŸ½

Thank the Gods & the algorithm fir suggesting this. You are charming. Love your accent to my ears.
Your reaction was like mine. From being charmed at the beginning with Sam & Gilly, a lovely wedding, hopes for reunions, and the sweet moments. It hit me just as it hit you.
    It still gets me.
You are a sweet summer child no more.
Look forward to binge ing your content.

  9. For me it was by book. I threw the book across the room and starting arguing and yelling at it. Left the room, came back into the room and was like "And another thing….."…..welcome to the club.

  10. I litterally jumped for joy out of my seat for this episode. It cemented this show as my favorite of all time. A strange reaction I know, but for me it was the first time in cenematic history where expectations were truely subverted. The first time a show felt real. I compleatly felt the Starks got what was coming for breaking the oath. Something about the "good" guys not winning like all shows ever was so satifying. No plot armor. The starks messed up, and there was no fixing it. EPIC!

  11. What a great reaction, really admire you for not walking away and instead choosing to talk through your raw reaction at the end. I absolutely wouldn't have blamed you for taking that time but you're absolutely right that it made the reaction more genuine and more honest to watch.

All of us went through this when the show was airing, so you're not alone in how deeply this impacted you and we all completely understand. I remember swearing off the show and saying I was going to drop it because all my favourite characters were gone. Of course I was right back on the sofa next week when the following episode aired.

  13. The bedding ceremony of Westeros is less wholesome than some might think, and the episode toned it down. The bride is undressed by multiple men on the way to the bedchamber and the groom is undressed by multiple women, all the while suggesting what awaits them in bed. Some even stay outside the door to suggest what the couple should do.

There's also the tradition of the First Night but it only applies to the common people where their lord gets to bed the bride first instead of the groom, but that has since been abolished by the Targaryens.

  14. It's good writing, casting and directing that make us actually "feel" for these characters. It's rare. What you feel is normal, as most of us also felt it when we first watched it. And this is just season 3. Just wait till you reach the end. LOL
