The Prayer That Makes You Long For Heaven w/Paul Rose | The Lila Rose Podcast E133

Today’s podcast episode is a little different from our usual episodes. I sit down with my dear brother Paul Rose, an entrepreneur and the creator of the popular podcast, Sing the Hours. After a fit of uncontrollable giggling, and some false starts singing (he’s the professional, not me), Paul and I deep dive the ancient Christian practice of Singing the Hours. We explore where should we start with prayer? What is the Liturgy of The Hours? How does praying the Psalms prepare us for Heaven? Why is this essential for Christians, in eternity? We discuss how the history of this practice is rooted in ancient Jewish prayer, how the Liturgy of the Hours connects us to Jesus in a special way, how Christian martyrs died with these prayers on their lips, and much more. I hope you enjoy this episode!

  2. The idea of people with stutters sometimes having an easier time singing is so interesting! I’m studying to enter the SLP field and I would love to look into it more to see if/how singing has been integrated into speech therapies. Really funny and wholesome episode.

  3. I pray with Paul the morning prayer and the night prayer. Since my eyesight has declined reading the breviary has become very difficult and Paul's daily videos have been Godsend. Thank you! Seeing you together with Lila, is just wonderful. I never made the connections and have followed her and her Pro-life mission for years! May God continue to bless you with both your gifts.💝💞♥

  4. Do your parents have any parenting books or podcasts? We now know two of their beautiful children and I’m ready to learn what your parents did so I can attempt (with God’s Grace), to replicate it!

  5. This is one of the most touching and spiritually awakening episodes you've done Lila. Beautiful to see the faith of your family and especially the singing of the hours given the reverence it deserves by your brother. It is a beautiful thing to be mystical united to the church at that hour all our prayers being united for our intentions. We get to expeirence the beauty of a monastic life in a small way ❤
