The Pieces Are Not Lining Up- Mack Truck Problems

Join along as we get the 1974 Mack hood prepared for paint with a lot of sanding and idea planning. With the help of Robert, we get the hood almost ready to go. Then it is time to place the radiator… with some fitment issues we have to get parts ordered and reevaluate our plan. Thanks for watching along.

  1. All you need to do to keep the dust down while spraying is water the floor for a while before you spray to allow any air particules fall. That will keep the dust from kicking up while spraying and give you a better finish. Not perfect but better. Besides it's a farm truck.

  2. Think about converting the rust before you paint. I used concrete and metal etch which is mainly phosphoric acid. It'll convert the rust and etch the metal to help the paint stick. I did the frame on my 03 f250 before I painted it. 2 years 2 winters later the paint is still bonded and no rust behind it.

  4. Always love your videos, long or short. As much of an improvement your former hoop shelter was, your current workshop is miles above that. Looking forward to many more of your wrenching and farming vids!
