  1. As a pole against the byzantines, you must use Obuchs a lot. Cheap polish knights or winged hussars are no match for byzantine halbs or cataprachts. You really need obuchs to take those fights.

  2. I wanted to see him wall him in also. Map control is important. Especially if he was the Koreans, that would make it torture. Add some towers behind it with ridiculous range. He wouldn't be able to take wood to seed the farms for his bulwark.

I created a strat years ago using the turks. It was a 4v4 black forest game. My ally had his walls get destroyed in like 2 seconds and he immediately resigned. I didn't have a ton of gold income yet because I was early imperial, and hadn't got trade going too much yet and my other 2 allies needed the trade. I had a ton of farms though because I was a noob with the turks at the time. It's probably a novelty because there are way better ways as playing as the turks and gold is plentiful. HOWEVER, at the time I had a ton of food and wood, but hadn't gotten the gold going yet. I made a massive palaside wall. The great palaside wall of turkey in my allies base. I deleted his building and make a ton of palasides with small breaks in them so that units could fit through but it would be difficult. I had the palasides spaced about 3 squares away from each other. Row after row of palaside with the turks +2 range on cannon bombards, janisary and hussars as a meat shield. Even their siege onagers couldn't do anything because I could snipe them with the cannon bombard. Vils are cheap on the front like building more palasides. It worked so well I was winning the 2v1. I would've gotten crushed without the "trench warfare" the idea was I couldn't easily replace my cannon bombards and janisary. But I had plenty of food and wood.

  3. Red was like my dad when we went to the beach. I always remember as a kid carrying tons of stuff down to the sand and wanting to sit down in the first clear area we found, but my dad would always be like, “No, not here”. I still don't know why; to this day, I don't understand why he made us walk for three or four minutes before we could set stuff down; it just meant a longer walk when we left.

  8. Asks for historical female byzantine – is given Theodora; calls her husband Theo; calls them both stone slave miners. Imagine calling Theodora of Byzantium and her husband Emperor Justinian (one of the most accomplished Eastern Roman emperors) a couple of stone mine slaves.

  9. "With Poles you basically make tons of knights until tons of knights doesn't work anymore" is the best and the most biting summary of the entirety of Polish history I have ever heard. 😀

  10. I really dislike the new autoscout. This is exactly what the game loses because of autoscout: Nice hiding, tactical movement. Gone. 20 Scouts all over the place? Easy. Skill? No.

  11. It ain't just the fact red wasn't losing units – red also made ranged units that shredded half blue's troops before they reached melee, while blue only made melee units and trebs. On a situation like that, trickling down your units directly into red's meat grinder of arbalests is the worst you could do. Mass them instead, and target down the arbalests.
