  1. you forgot to mention that her loot table is randomized, and unless I'm missing something she's the only chance you can get 3/4 raider helmets without console commands

  4. From what I understand Novac was the first area built for NV and was essentially a testbed for the the devs to get used to the engine. Because of this there's a lot of reused assets from fallout 3 in the surrounding area which likely explains why this raider is used as a prop here.

  5. I'm glad the concept of more in depth raider gangs came back in fallout NV it makes the enemies have more depth. In 3 and a lot of 4, Raiders just feel like cannon fodder less than human because there's no identity to them. In NV, each gang, even the ones you can't talk too have a little story going on with them. Jackle and Viper Raiders are found out in the wild, far from civilization. They also have a tendency to ambush thier victoms as aposed to a frontal assult like the fiends do. This is because they have been brutalized by the NCR and hunted for years. There are not many of them left, so they have to operate this way. Where as a gang like the fiends is right next to the strip and throw themselves at enemies. They have the numbers and power to do it. West Coast Fallout is so much better that the factions, even the tiny ones, are so much more interesting.

  6. My "Canon story" for this raider is that they were part of the Capital Wasteland raiders, but after the BoS and Lone Wanderer killed their raider gang and almost them, as the sole survivor of the gang, they traveled to the Mojave to start their gang again. Upon hearing of a place called Novac, they decided to steal from it. Taking some supplies from the gift shop and sneaking out, after taking one last look at Novac before leaving it, they see a glint from the dinosaurs mouth. It was too late, Boone had them in their sights and they were shot dead. Hence why they look like a Fallout 3 raider.

  7. Reason for this: Novac is the first area Obsidian designed. Josh Sawyer touched on this and how he didn't want the first area we see to be the first they design, because this has the risk it would also look the worst in terms of how refined they make it. Same thing with lategame areas or areas we'd frequent: they should look nice and wow the player or be enjoyable to go back to.

Novac has tell-tale signs such as this raider and the music from FO3 giving away that it was indeed the very first area designed in the game.

  8. I’d like to think after clipping her Boone walked over to see no track marks or signs her being a “raider” and he swallows the truth he might have killed an innocent person or even just a scav. Not clearing the body because it serves as a scarecrow for real raiders but because it lets him know to think twice before pulling the trigger (why he has you use his beret after you find out who sold his wife)
