The Notorious Story Of The Pike County Massacre

Deep in the Appalachian foothills of Pike County, Ohio, eight members of the Rhoden family were slain, execution style, in their beds on the night of April 21-22, 2016. Three children, all age three and under were spared and a tight-knit Appalachian community was left with the questions of who had done such an act and why? The largest mass murder in Ohio history would also set off one of its largest criminal investigations.

  1. I bought stuff off Craigslist from Jake Wagner a week after the murders. I met his brother and Mother and they all seemed as normal as could be! They weren't nervous or anything! Thy showed me round the property. They said they were moving to Alaska .. They carried on a normal conversation!! Come to find out…our Sons girlfriend is related to the Rhodens!

  2. No death penalty? Deals are disgusting. Investigators should work more to bring all the evidences and send them to their fair fate…the death penalty. The mother should be sentenced to life without any possibility of parole but the other three living creatures from the darkness should be executed as soon as possible. Justice wasn't made in this case in my ooinion.

  3. How ABSOLUTLEY evil, horrific and cowardly. They should ALL have received the death penalty. It's disgusting how criminals try worm their way out by trying to cut deals. It's not through remorse for their victims, it's for their own selfish, cowardly reasons. My heart breaks for the victims, their families, and the poor babies that have to face life without their beautiful mothers. Thank-you again for being so respectful and caring in the way the show is narrated and showing sympathy and love for the victims and families of these horrific, unspeakable crimes. May they all R.I.P. And hopefully their loved ones can find peace, someday. 💞

  4. I know this area fairly well. My great grandparents had a farm in Pike County on Dry Bone Road that I used to go to quite frequently as a child and as a teenager. I was shocked when I first heard about this horrible crime. To think that it could take place in a tight knit community where I had so many happy childhood memories made it even more shocking to me. My condolences and prayers go out to the Rhoden family. RIP.

  5. Don’t get me wrong, it was an awful crime and I can’t imagine how those babies are gonna struggle in the future.

That being said, I have a hard time having much sympathy for a bunch of turds. Those folks had more issues than Playboy magazine… You can’t go through life being a scumbag and then be shocked when bad things happen. I feel like this is just a case of hillbillies hillbillyin’.
