  1. I think you still take a 6 man brick with a coldstar, it's too powerful a stat check on armies. But I'm definitely finding a way to get 2 riptides in. No more stealth suits, no second 3 man crisis unit, no more Farsight and I'm sticking in 2 riptides. Might even take out a Pathfinder squad and get in a crisis commander with precision of the patient hunter. Necrons are going to be the bane of everyone's existence though

  2. did you mention the change to hazardous weapons on Page 7 of the rules commentary – fails of hazardous rolls on the CIBs will now splash damage onto other crisis suits armed with CIBs if the failing suit does not have enough wounds. Only after all CIB equipped crisis suits are dead will it splash onto crisis suits without CIBs. That makes overcharged cib salvos more dangerous and don't just take out the 1 single suit

  3. Great commentary, particularly looking at how other armies will change. I think with marines heavy vehicle lists will still be a thing, which we can struggle.

I think the 6 man suit with coldstar will still survive, if it was an auto include before its still very good at 40 points more. What will probably move is a 2nd unit, a 3 man crisis suit unit (that won't be using strike and fade because the big block will be using it) has too much competition from 2 crisis suit commanders (160 points and do more damage) or a riptide. With only a single crisis brick we'll need to chaff to protect / screen it (and tech such as darkstrider).

I agree that we can have to be careful not to make Assassination too appealing to the opponent. So solo crisis battlesuit commanders will only work if we restrict other characters such as cadre fireblades. We really don't want to give up both kill secondaries, just the fact the opponent has to give up unit shooting to do an action secondary is huge. If they have an action secondary it opens up to us killing their easier kill chaff units to force their bigger units to do secondaries or not score them.

Its a shame vespids didn't get their back into reserve rule changed to end of opponents turn like similar units, thats what they really needed.

  4. Going to be picking up drukari soon! Of note, nightmare shroud stops you from being OW'd out of disembarking, not from charging, would probably see it on archon with kabalites for the sustained 2 and ignoring cover shooting. Nice to see tau getting a few points drops, probably still taking 6 crisis though!

  5. Im not sure Riptides make my list. 15 pts isnt to much and before they weren't really viable. I agree the base to any list now is breacherfish. I think Tau lists need early scout push back. Then get on objectives early as bait. Then kill. I think GKs do the durability early game harassment better and as you put crack transports well with the fusion. Then you have move blocking tie up in the form of the piranhas. Kill and primary denial in breacherfish then secondaries in tetras and stealths. You then bring the kill brick that is the 6 man.

  6. Nightspinners dont affect crisis advance because crisis dont roll for the advance, they add 6 to the move characteristic, and their ability affects the advance roll. At most its a -2

  7. You should really consider making these streams into podcasts. You already read out and explain what you're looking at so well that I usually just listen while painting or doing other work. Its pretty much perfect podcast material.

Since you've done the work already, might as well put it out there in multiple forms to make it easier for people to find and enjoy.
