In this video, I present The Nameless City by H.P. Lovecraft – an audiobook narration.
This is a short horror story that follows a protagonist who travels to the middle of the Arabian Desert to explore an ancient underground city.
Whilst the story contains Lovecraft’s trademark stylisation, this is not an entirely logical narrative. And perhaps it is not supposed to be. Lovecraft himself said this story was based on a dream and that is how it comes across; with moments of clarity amongst a plethora of imagery and concepts.
Interestingly enough, the story is one of the most popular even though many publications rejected it. It has been described as ‘overwritten’ and ‘over-dramatic’.
Join me as we descend into the Nameless City by H.P. Lovecraft and determine whether or not it is the mad ramblings of an overly dramatic writer, or an evocative nightmare that holds you tight until the very end. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to my channel for more classic stories and poems. Stay tuned for more enthralling tales that will ignite your imagination. Happy listening!

Reptilians and the hollow earth 😄 I guess speculation of both will never die!! Thank you and Greetings 👋
Well done
Irem of the Pillars, mentioned around twenty -five minutes in, was a famous city of forbidden knowledge & corruption in both the Quran and 1001 Nights… It was also (probably) found in Southern Oman. Also called Ubar… Fascinating story, shows what traditions HPL was drawing from…
Nice one!
