  1. i recovered a Steelcase Dash light, and man i'm happy with it ! it's powerful, easily adjustable, and also dimmable.
I found out that those cost a hefty price, so that was a really good salvaged item !

  2. I recently bought a Neatfi and it has been a game changer. I used a budget version of the otlight lamp as well and it worked great for years, but the Neatfi is awesome! I used it in the middle of a larger table so it would light my space and my buddies space that I was teaching how to paint and it covered both areas with enough light for both of us to paint comfortably. It's totally worth the price you pay for it.

  3. Weird, I was searching for the redgrasgaming lamp for weeks now. Couldn’t remember the name. Thanks a lot, now I can order it an compare it to the led arch from gsw

  4. I used to do some mini painting at work (a comics and games store) and then finished at home, and the difference in light quality available in both places really knackered a couple of my paint jobs! Turns out starting a blend in a cool light environment and finishing it in a warm light environment really screws it up! So I've been big on getting the right light ever since.

  5. the best way I've found for my set up (fairly constrained for space despite having two desks) is two amazon clip on desk lights, got them cheap and have a few different temperature options and aren't so bright they hurt your eyes even when painting for 6-7 hours a day

  6. So, this is an ad for Redgrass games' lamp, right? I mean, you just happen to be reviewing lighting when they are also promoting a new product…what are the chances?

  7. I use optonica bulbs sold for photography purposes. They are pretty cheap and work really well. I use the 1320 lumen versions. They light up my room as if it was daylight XD

  8. No reason to pay that much for the bulbs in the architect lamps 90-95 cri bulbs are typically half to a quarter of that price or even less. $50 will get you the lamps, bulbs, and spare bulbs. Having a bright light is good, having a overly bright light right next to your face is just as bad as have one that's too dim.

The cheapest option for good lighting is buying an LED strip and attaching it to something yourself. More effort, but significantly less money.

  9. I’d love to see a video about using magnification. I’ve been using a magnifying glass/light combo since I got started painting, but most mini painters on YouTube don’t seem to use it and I’m curious why.
