Season 3 comes full circle now as the Mandalorians make their last stand!

BEFORE WE GO ON…

Oh what an epic last stand!! It all beings with Din finding a way to get loose from the restraints of Moff Gideon’s minions.

What follows are epic battles where we get to see Grogu and Din fighting side by side. Our little baby Yoda has grown up and shown true skill in the dire situations.

The Bo-Katan arc gets fulfilled in a most satisfying way but not before she leads one of the most epic Star Wars sequences to date! The Mandalorians fight in mid-air powered by their jet packs and led by a tree leader and future queen?

As this season closes, do you think Gideon is actually dead or was that just one of his clones? What did you think of Din adopting Grogu?

  1. What's with Joshua's hair style? I don't think that's what they meant by Flattop. That said, this Gen X'er doesn't quite get this current bushy top, short sides and bsck "paintbrush" hair style for dudes. To me, it just looks like the dudes need a haircut. Back in my day, males haircuts were either short Spikey haircuts or long shaggy "Heavy Metal" hair styles. As my High School days were the late 80s and early 90s.

  2. Scenes and action set pieces like the battle in the air and many others that we never saw in Star Wars before now are underappreciated by people who don't like the show as a whole.

  3. Exploding the cloning pods seems like an excessive way of terminating the clones, and why would that even be possible? Simply turning off the life support seems like a more practical way of terminating them.

  4. Great analysis, as always. There are so many things to unpack. Notice Grogu connected with the mythosaur, Bo's arc was transformative for her. She found herself again. Moff isn't dead, maybe like Vader, but I don't think he's dead. If you remember when Ahsoka was talking to Luke and she said he was teaching Grogu well, Luke commented on how he is remembering rather than Luke teaching him. I bet that will become more prevalent in the next Season. Now they are officially father & son, yeah! The music in this episode was incredible, especially around the Praetorian guards. Keep up the great work! I hope to see you at San Diego Comic-con this year.

  5. I thought this was a very satisfying (and great) conclusion to the season and overall story arc. I agree that there was no need to connect this to the upcoming Ahsoka, let it stand on its own. We certainly haven't seen the last of Moff Gideon. I'm positive I heard Giancarlo Esposito say that Mando would have to deal with Gideon during seasons 3 & 4. At this point, knowing about Thrawn's imminent return in Ahsoka, that it may be Thrawn himself who finally takes down Gideon for trying to take control…I guess we'll have to see how Thrawn's arc plays out in Ahsoka first. Based on the final shot here, it sounds like they may have taken the planned Rangers of the New Republic series meant for Gina Carano's Cara Dune, and re-worked it for Mando to be season 4

  6. Did anyone notice there were square shaped ships and a little more when they took off for mandalore and when they were in atmosphere it was just smaller ships like the gauntlet?

  7. The Dark Saber, though meant by Mandalorian lore, meant to unite the Mandalorian people, actually caused more division than unity. I,for one,am glad it was destroyed. It caused more harm to the Mandalorians than good. I loved the story archs of the characters and just loved that aerial fight ! 😊
Moff Gideon is more than likely still alive. A villian like him wouldn't go out that quickly. There is some fan theory that even that Gideon that "died" was actually a Clone of the original. They point to the fact that up until now, Moff Gideon had a mustache..thus one,and the clones in the tanks didn't. I ki d of think that theory could be right. Also,it would be a more satisfying end to Gideon if Thrawn is the one who brings that about, after being annoyed by Gideon's efforts to pull off his plans.
As for who the other "spies" were,in respect to that title I believe it was the 12 Mandalorians Bo Katan lead to spy out the planet to check if it was safe. They were spies, like the 12 spies Moses sent out to check on the promised land. Yes,that's one of the theories being talked about that I can see that being more true. The title of that episode had a double meaning. 😊
