The Leper King | The Defender of Jerusalem | Baldwin IV

In the annals of history, certain figures stand out not just for their royal lineage, but for their extraordinary courage and resilience in the face of adversity. One such remarkable monarch was King Baldwin IV of Jerusalem, famously known as the Leper King. Despite his debilitating illness, Baldwin IV’s reign in the 12th century marked a period of unwavering determination, military prowess, and unparalleled leadership in the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Despite being a leper, Baldwin was primarily a knight in character and in upbringing, and to contemporaries his most distinctive traits were his courage and honourableness. With enemies such as Saladin, King Baldwin of Jerusalem would need to fight in ferocious battles in order to protect his Kingdom. This is his story.

  1. Anyone else think it would be cool to visit this timeline to see how knights and the people lived back then… The middle ages are my favorite timeline in history I like to read about all nations around the world during this period
