  1. Overall, I think the show was good. Reduce episode 3's subplot and focus more on Joel and Ellie. Add one more episode and flesh out the story more.

  2. When Tess dies, doesn't she blow up a whole bunch of grenades by lighting them on fire for like, 2 seconds? They have to cook for a bit, pardon the pun.
Now sure, grenades will blow up in a fire…but not after just coming in contact with flames briefly. I'm pretty sure a lot of soldiers wouldn't be keen on running into a rough fight with a bunch of fragile bombs all over them…probably would have lost a bunch of people having smoke breaks ffs.
    Am I wrong here?

  3. Wasn't this that gay drama/lovestory that had zombies in it? It reminds me of a game I played once on Playstation. Only I don't remember so many gay drama interludes, and I used to watch queer as folk back in the day!

  4. The only thing i hate about the show they ruined the billy part of the game for 60 minutes of gay sex the point of the game is you see everthing from the point of view of joel and sometimes ellie that episode doesn't got a simple reason to be

  5. You admit it looks NOTHING like the game, the characters dont resemble anything like their counterparts and yet you keep MAKING EXCUSES for why its not bad. Also saying Pedro Pascal is a good actor shows your bias, he is a wooden clumsy page reader.

  6. you are really basing ALL of your arguments on whatever your politically brain-rotted side thinks as the universal truth.

Part 2 isn't even hated outside of your incredibly loud yet minor side of the discourse. Go outside. Hated games don't just rise 3 digits on a metacritic website. Oh but of course Sony or "cuckman" influenced it somehow, because your arguments are about as predictable as this entire review.

  7. I'm sorry but this show as a show is completely overrated. As a person who didn't play the game and doesn't know much, the show was mid maybe even a little below. It look good but the story was weak, they wasted time with filler episodes, and failed to get us to care about any character. Especially the main, if either died I wouldn't care at all and it goes double for Ellie who is just obnoxious.

  8. Watching season 1 just made me appreciate Troy and Ashley from the game even more. They set the bar so damn high it couldn’t be surpassed in my opinion. TV show was solid enough just felt off in certain aspects. And now onto season 2….Strap in everybody 🤕

  9. Seeing the references to politics, i'll never watch this – i have a zero politics rule in regards to entertainment, unless it's well thought out or it's all fantasy (such as westeros was)

  10. Maybe I am just too much of a fan of the game, but although the show was good, there were alot of issues.

First, the race swapping…why? The game itself already has great representation that doesnt feel shoved down our throats. In the show, I took my headphones off when I saw Sarah and Marie (Tommy's wife). Just….why? What is wrong with making an accurate adaptation of the game.

Although it was nice to see the back story for Bill and Frank, quite honestly, not having Bill and Joel and Ellie interacting is a huge huge miss. You get to see how Joel and Bill interact while still respecting each other without having to say it in a letter. The way Frank dies doesnt even hit me as much as it did in the game. The way the show kills Bill and Frank was just a bad attempt to pull on heart strings, which didnt for me. The game has it to wear Frank gets tired of Bill and runs out of the compound but gets bit (I think) and hangs himself. You later come accross his body as Bill is trying to escort Joel and Ellie out to where they need to go. It hits so much harder and explains everything without having to show you their backstory. Its phenominal writing.

Why make Sam deaf? we lose great dialogue between Ellie and Sam. Now they make it work a little as their time in the show comes to an end, but seriously…the reason the game was so good was that the dialogue really built the characters and here its just not well done enough. Although they did make their interactions is the show as good as they could be and at times it was enjoyable but him being able to talk would have been much better.

Why are Tess and Joel just….weak in the beginning. The first time we see Tess we see her unable to carry a kid to the firepit. Why? The reason Tess' death hits hard in the game is because her and Joel are portrayed as rugged ruthless humans living to survive in an insanely cruel world. So their moment at the capital building is much more meaningful in the game, she becomes vulnerable and fearful but also you see the trust and closeness she has in Joel. The show didnt quite hit it but Tess' acting was awesome. Why is Joel having these sort of panic attacks? Why is he basically crying when hes talking to Tommy about whats been going on? It doesn't make him more
relatable, it makes his character inconsistent. He finally brings it together in the end though I will say.

Davids little arc was one of the moments I was truly waiting for, its when Ellie starts to really take a turn in the game to have such a different perspective in the world. They needed WAY more time to flesh out that chemistry with Ellie and David. It just doesnt hit the mark.

Anyway, I am sure most people enjoyed it. I am sure if you didnt play the game, then this show is awesome. Im glad for that, the more people that know about TLOU…the better. But just know, the game is lightyears better.

  11. Did you guys noticed how they made the fireflies more cool and likeable in the show? The same terrorist group that attacked U.S. government safety zones killing tons of innocent civilians, more than once btw. And the reason i think they did that, is because they want "us" to sympathize with the fireflies and hate Joel for saving Ellie.

  12. I read positive reviews so I watched it, but I had to quit on Ep. 3. Not only did it do nothing to further the story, it was quite gross. Some straight dude with PTSD gets manipulated into taking it up the butt. I decided that was enough of The Last of Us for me. Everything I've heard about the show going forward from Ep. 3 does not sound good enough to get back into the show, it actually sounds kind of boring.

  13. The only reason the first game was greenlit to become a cash-grab, I mean 9 episodes which people today consider a series, is to promote as you say "THE MESSAGE" in the next Nine episodes. Bet there's a damn good chance we're going to see more than 9 episodes for season two.

  14. I absolutely hated the final gun fight between Joel and the fireflys. They wasted a potentilly badass icing on the cake with hazey video and slow down moments like he was in a dream sequence.

  15. It was ok but i was able to predict there would be a scene where the color mafenta would bathe the characters , that flasback scene was a way to show how fabulous the digital world is vs how grim and boring the real world is btw imho, when you see magenta it is the agenda! You will be assimilated into the collective of the digital! I can see the writing ending up like the corner Colony wrote themselves ibto, the enemies are just too powerful for tge good guys to beat in any believable way and it just ends, it was a good ride but im not watching another season of this depressing world where there are no heros with any human values left.

  16. The show was alright at best. Not bad, but not great either. Episode 3 went way off course from the game. Totally unnecessary. Some of the casting choices were bad. David was the most obvious one. I also noticed how they revamped Davids character in the show to push a political narrative. Same thing they did for episode 3. Again, totally unnecessary. There weren’t many infected and things seemed generally rushed. Especially the latter half of the season.

  17. Ep3 was a waste of time for such a short series but at least a good episode with good acting and interesting story arc…
Ep7 was literally useless.. and boring as hell xD

And yes we all would have preferred a stronger Joe and a less bossy Ellie..

And yes the show seem to be very squirmish in denouncing the terrorism of the fireflies and the need of martial law in extreme circumstances..
