  1. Mid? You're being too kind to this stinking pile of shit.

They basically emasculated Joel in EVERY WAY POSSIBLE.

And they made what i thought was near impossible: Made ms plot device even more insufferable.

  2. 28:20 The idea of zombies not being aggressive or even being straight up docile unless provoked is an idea that I havent really seen done, and I kinda want to now.

Too bad the person who said it is a pretentious dumbass.

  3. I really liked your review but near the end I think that you're being too reasonable. You know who wrote this show and you have to look it through the lens of who wrote it. You know they don't mean well. Just the same way most people interpreted the ending as Joel doing the right thing but they had to reveal their true face later on by telling us we should see him as a villain.

  4. Always like it when you give scene rewrites that improve the quality while also improving what the writers failed to do. Your changes are straight to the point and effective for story telling in general

  5. While I disagree with a lot of the key points in this video there are a few that I actually agree with when discussing this TV show with friends so I'm glad to see that I'm not alone. Good video

  6. Great vid, and totally agree. I spent the past year locked up and I was so hyped to watch this when I was released. And after watching it, I’m left feeling melancholic. Sure was it better than TWTD but so much of the story felt rushed and brushed while unnecessary elements were expanded upon. Why was episode 3 so freaking long while the finale so rushed and short. Joel repeatedly states humanity has gone to shit get few times we witness it. Plus the lack of infected. But it is a decent video game adaption and way better than the halo show. 7/10

  7. Great video man! I agree with so many of your points I honestly just felt like you weren’t critical enough of some episodes 😂 overall really liked it though, thanks for the effort, the show barely scrapes a mid!!

  8. God I gotta say the Saul bits were good but I would honestly love to watch movies or shows with you because apparently everyone I hang out with thinks this is peak fiction which kinda sucks lol

  9. Ep 4. Surprised Ellie didn't shoot joel when the rifle was being used to crush his throat. There's a reason you are taught to watch your backdrop. Bullets can go straight through people. Bullets can also deflect off bones and do other crazy unpredictable things too

  10. Just more Druckmann pretentiousness without the rest of the people that made TLOU a great game. He thinks himself some auteur. He wants to be like some sort of George Lucas, except without the accomplishment of creating something truly groundbreaking that changed movies forever, but has the flaw of definitely needing someone to reign him in so we can get something like "Empire Strikes Back." When there's nobody to do that, we get "The Phantom Menace."

I have completely avoided the show because I've played the game a dozen and a half times, and the game is going to be the better story. Also, I know where this all leads. It all just leads to wanna-be Hulk Smash and her learning "sports." The TV people said there will be changes to that, but I have zero confidence that they will treat a main male character well. He'll most likely not be allowed to be heroic like a father would do in protection of his daughter (even if she is a surrogate). The Critical Drinker has already shown how the basic messages Druckmann wanted in TLOU2 could have been maintained, but told in a much better way that didn't disrespect the characters fans grew to love in the first game. We won't likely get something that well done and thought out.

  11. Even though I dislike Neil Druckmann, we have to align with the facts here. According to him, he is the one who introduced his idea which he developed in college. The idea however was fleshed out and changed by his cohort Bruce. It is very much true though that without Bruce TLOU would have been a very different game, so Bruce does deserve his credits.

  12. I gave up on the show in Kansas, but hearing that they actually did justice to David and the cannibals might actually convince me to watch the rest, since that was by FAR my favourite part of the game

  13. “Ask fifty people and you’ll get different opinions” most likely true, I played TLoU 1 after mostly burning out on zombie games, everything in TLoU plot became predictable to me after the first hour of the game so story was boring to me and I don’t remember what the music is like, only remember the gameplay and story, never played the sequel, playing Dead Rising was way better in my opinion because Left 4 Dead I was bored of enough a friend who was excited to borrow it I just gave it to him for free, if you like the games I didn’t it is a-ok with me just during period a lot of zombie games didn’t get my attention because a lot of what I played was boring :3

  14. Alright, i quit five minutes in, after being agitated for the 30 second title card, hearing how "loosey goosey" & unfaithful this was when it's the only game adaptation in history to scene after scene after scene adapt not only identical word-for -word dialogue, but even shot-for-shot identical to the camera angles, i knew this was a bad faith review, & this is coming from someone who loved the game & didnt even like the show, lol

  15. It’s kind of amazing how Joel and Ellie managed to look so clean each episode despite sleeping outside or spending weeks hitchhiking between getting to anywhere with running water.

  16. I’ve been waiting for someone to actually critique this show and it’s so damn annoying when people act like tv shows or movies etc are absolutely flawless. Don’t get me wrong I liked the show but there was a lot of negative thoughts I had on it that I’m glad someone is speaking on

  17. saw a video from a dude arguing about how Hollywood portrays firearms and how the characters use them. It essentially says that "assault rifles", or automatic rifles or AR-15s are used by bad guys, while the hero sticks with the bolt action or single action guns. I don't remember if he said something about the association between automatic rifles and school shooters/ shooters in general, but I can see a case there.

So, tldr, Joel doesn't keep the AR-15 in episode 3 because of this and returns to have one during the hospital shootout (although that's in the game as well)

  18. The last of us is a shitty movie pretending to be a shitty game and the show is mediocre and pedestrian, just like every sony game from that era and every show today like Mandalorian.

  19. This is most fair shake of the show I've seen that doesn't lean into their own bias. Thanks for this. I got tired of youtube only recommending videos praising this show. Your criticism was a fun watch.

  20. Everything I hear about this, screams wokie bull shit. Even the game is estrogen fueled bull shit. Paaaass. I’ll happily watch this tho.
