You can just kidnap both of them with your 40 intrigue and win/white peace every time. The new intrigue kidnap system is overpowered and makes this start really easy, while it used to be harder.

I've tried this. I can usually Survive and White Peace Ivar, keeping Lothian, but Whiteshirt is MUCH harder
21:15 You only lose legitimacy when you marry a lowborn. In the marriage candidates filter menu, scroll down to "Dynasty" and select "Not Lowborn". This means everyone left to marry has a established dynasty, and you won't lose any legitimacy or prestige if you were to marry them.

Can anyone tell why my Designated Heir co-Emperor suddenly is NOT my player Heir, and I’m not even allowed to designate him? I have full crown authority, full control and the game never even told me it happened, let alone asked. I’d have to backtrack a decade, including a difficult Crusade to find a good save.

Once you got the white peace you could have just infeudated to Scotland
you can abduct at war but you receive like a -200 scheme modifier. Only characters with full intrigue trees can work that off without the scheme getting breached.
