  1. This is the season I always look foward to Back Issues episodes, wanting to see what spooky/horror related books you guys wind up discussing. They tend to be the best, especially when Tiffany is hosting.

One book I really hope they one day get to is X-Men: Curse of the Mutants, great combo of X-Men and Blade fighting vampires. An excellent action/horror crossover.

  2. Remember Evolution with David Duchovny? The aliens from that movie "evolved" super fast due to their unique physiology interacting and adapting when exposed to fire.

Evolution came out in 2001 and JLA: Scary Monsters came out 2003… It's like Clairmont had the movie on in the background and jumbled a few details around like replacing fire with cold and the JLA with Head & Shoulders shampoo.

  3. I knew Jon was into literally hot ladies from Human Target where he likes Fire. But, there were two in this episode counting the one from Kelly's run. Jon fans are there any more ladies with fire powers that Jon has been with? I am just curious if this is as frequent with Clark and L.L or Kitty Pryde's thing for Petes.

  4. It's okay, Tiffany. I can tell you, as an indigenous person (Pit River Achumawi), that there's no need to feel any type of way about the stereotype of Native American mysticism in this book. Trust me, that's one stereotype that we actually find hilarious. Yes, we are a proud people with a beautiful culture and rich history, but we are also the first ones to laugh at our own stereotypes, and as long as people aren't laughing at us, we always welcome everyone to laugh with us.

    A'ho and Happy Halloween everybody!

  5. Big picture take away; Superman is only capable of being Superman because he has no concept of pain and discomfort. If he did he'd be as much of a weak fallible scumbag as the rest of humanity. He can only believe in the goodness of others because he doesn't really understand what they have to deal with all the time. So an idealist. Headcanon.

  6. I am so stoked you guys are finally doing this book! It is a perfect back issues book in my opinion. Great episode, everyone made good points and observations – even Ben! I always look forward to the Halloween episodes.

  7. Honestly, from the description of the story, with some heavy fixing of the scientific ideas this could've really been interesting.
I was sure that the whole time the creature was only maybe half physically there and half mentally altering their perception of reality and THAT'S how it could keep up with Flash, because he didn't even really try to run from them because that is something he could mever imagine happening and that specifically gets targeted.
And the monsters being naturally from a place that is so cold that even atoms move slowly and just being able to move and evolve more freely in a warmer place

  8. Really enjoyed this episode. I remember finding this when I was 11 I was Cool the justice league fighting monsters this will be epic.. and every issue I was like… But what is happening? And totally thought at the end hold on… Isn't that just Jean Grey??? Why The hell didn't Batman call Alfred and say bring me my predator armor and your elephant gun I gotta fight WW and what in the name of salt and vinegar crisps is the flash doing in this book?? Like a small child getting caught at tag he's sat with his head in his hands like I got caught I'm out 🙁

Also really liked it when Tiffany told us where other writers and artists were during the books creation. That was a really nice touch. Keep up the good work guys 👍 much love from the UK
