Much of the extension of the track length was done with the track that was built at Edwards AFB in California. That track was dismantled sometime in the 1960's, and the tracks were shipped to Holloman for extension of their track. I was in high school from 1958-1962 and the track at Edwards was still active during that time. I lived near there and a classmate's dad was an engineer there. He took me and his son out to see it once. Learned a lot about the sleds from that.
Maybe you should have called this video The Development of the Ejection Seat because it contained precious little information about the Holloman High Speed Test Track.
Why have the seats saved “Countless lives” has no one been counting! And if so then some people should be fired for negligence! HOW PATHETIC! Numbers Matters!
wasnt this in indiana jones lol
This was quite informative. Great video!
Holloman would have been my destination in 1969 if I had re-enlisted….
They didn't calculate for an F-14 ejection in a flat spin. RIP Lt. Nick Bradshaw.

RIP to the brave souls who gave their life's testing these insane ejections….. gone but not forgotten>:D
omegalol
I want to ride it
That's some bad@$$ engineerin'.
Disneyland needs one of these ride….
It's funny how that wall have warning max speed is Mach 10 🤣🤣🤣
I know it would be heavier but why not eject the whole cockpit module. It would certainly give the pilot/s more safety.
The British Martin Baker company and the Russian ejection seat systems weren't reliant on Hollaman AFB research. They were independent.
You mange a synopsis of ejector seats without the words Martin Baker crossing your lips? Yikes.
I just love the Chassis on those rocket sleds!!

The good 'ol fashion "YEET SEAT!!"
you need to test ejection seats in real test aircrafts with real human pilots
Really enjoy all your channels and content. Without this content, my work days would be very boring. Thank you
Lol just yeeting test dummies out of the sled. Looks funny but helps save the lives of fighter pilots.
Question for the USN and USAF pilots who are inevitably watching this video:
Are military pilots required to also be Airborne qualified?
It looks like it would be fun to ride and feel the acceleration.
Had a sled track also at NAWS China Lake. Was pretty awesome when they broke the sound barrier at ground level.
Now this is a great piece. đź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ťđź‘Ť
you think this dude does this voice when he's in his own home talking to his family?
Well now they have to adapt it for 100 different genders and such…
Watching this I gotta think what does the spine of the person ? I must be like getting shot out of a cannon !
Drones or UAVs make all this obsolete. Hard to fathom.
This video is all over the place. Pick a topic and stick with it!

Well organized and excellently presented. Thanks
Your videos are simply the best! Thankyou!
We had snort track at China lake nwc
A lot of that video was from China Lake

Nice summary. I wrote the Wikipeda page for the track while employed at the 846th TS. Check it out for more info.
