My name is Chris Green and I love to share stories from British history. Not just because they are interesting but because, good or bad, they have shaped the world we live in today.

History should not be stuffy or a long list of dates or kings & queens.
So rather than lectures or Youtube animations, I tell stories that bring the past to life.

My aim is to be chat as if I were having a coffee or meal with you. Jean in Maryland, USA recently wrote: “Chris, is the history teacher I wish I had at school!”

Just for the record, I do have a history degree in Medieval & Modern history from the University of Birmingham.

  1. My apologies, had to push off early but really enjoyed the live stream! I am looking forward to your video on Cochrane, will you be doing one (or have you done one) on Sir Edward Pellew?

  2. Thanks for the video, only half way through but didn't want to forget to post this! I would love to hear your take on Dunkirk. It really seems to rile up some bad feeling in the French (from a post I was reading the other day). It would be good to understand why, as I was always told, we evacuated both French, British and Commonwealth soldiers from the beaches. We have 68 ships and submarines (anything with a HMS infrastructure of it) now but that includes the P2000 patrol boats.

  3. Fascinating Week In History post this week….
You've covered the Peninsula War two weeks in a row….brilliant. Your coverage of the Celtic church was very interesting [the passover is celebrated on the Jewish calender on Nisan 14, usually a week or two before the Catholic Easter].
Would LOVE a video about The Highwaymen.
