You gatta remember that Luffy never mentioned Sabo or Ace. The only reason he's mentioned Ace is because Ace physically showed up. The way Luffy is, he probably would never have mentioned either of them unless they were there or if someone were to ask him directly if he had any family. But since no one asked, he never felt the need to say.
