There have been many films about June 6, 1944. That’s why our documentary is about what happened before the invasion of Normandy. Allied planners spent years analyzing changing tides, treacherous terrain, and German fortifications along the Atlantic Wall to determine the best time and place to land. Even basic logistics were a nightmare. More than a million troops were to be sent to England, then equipped and fed. By looking at Allied leadership from COSSAC to SHAEF, our film examines how plans for one of the greatest invasions in history changed up to D-Day.
Created in collaboration with Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM), the film outlines key Army doctrines such as the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), Intelligence Battlefield Preparation (IPB), and Operational Environmental Sustainment Preparation.
