FYI: Same temperatures in Seattle, the temperate northwest. So we're hot and sticky, but pine-scented!
Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaàaaaaaaaaaaap
Great stuff. I haven't finished watching this yet and I can't wait for part 2
Yo! You mentioned Spokane! It's my home city!
"we dont have a physical bigfoot to compare bigfoot footprints too." That is probably the single stupidest thing Ive ever heard anyone on either side of the argument ever say. If we had a captured live bigfoot, or dismembered physical remains of a dead bigfoot then…we wouldnt need to care about their foot prints because their existence as a species would be proven. Thats the whole problem. We have no physical remains. All we have is indirect evidence, of which footprints are the most common. So all we can do is compare their alleged prints to other alleged prints, and to real prints of other animals, to see if there is consistency within the species footprints, and to see if they are distinct from human and from other animal foot prints.
You should do one on the Yeti!
This was interesting, but I think if you’re going to use Native American folklore to profit your channel it is disrespectful to stop every few minutes and talk about what nonsense they are (as I noticed you did several times in the video) unless you are Native American yourself. It is completely reasonable to not believe in “Bigfoot” but they do and these are their stories they shared with the rest of the world when they didn’t have to. If you’re so insecure about what people will think of you if you don’t continuously reiterate that you think it’s all ridiculous, then maybe you should choose a different topic or at the very least, do not use traditional Native American folklore as reference. Unfortunately this is something I see a lot as someone who works closely with the tribes in my line of work.
There are a lot of motion sensitive trail cams in the US running 24/7, that you can monitor online. My state even has a web site for volunteers to sort the pictures based on which animals appear in them. You could hardly wish for a better system for detecting sasquatches.
Next episode Mothman
Informative as always.
"he was german, so take his story with a grain of salt."
I feel similar to you. I also used to be a believer as a teen. I didn't believe there was A bigfoot, a supernatural creature. But I believed there might be some undiscovered species of ape going around. Now that I know how impossible it would be to have an entire population of apes of that size go undiscovered, yeah no.
I love this channel, and I love Bigfoot, do mothman
Lads, you smashed it out the park with this one!
High 20s low 30s is what I set my air conditioning to while it’s low 40s outside for 2 months straight…
Big Fart^^. Man, I cannot unhear that. You are probably the guy to laugh uncontrollably when a professer talks about the species ''homo'' XD. Sometimes the small brain just takes over
Well, panthers are routinely described in England… does it mean that panthers doesn’t exist?
See the stupid logic?
My family has had multiple encounters at our camp in the middle of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. A couple of sightings, a footprint, a couple of trees snapped at a very high points making an X and a handful of screams have been witnessed by my family in the last 15 years or so.
cool pod! hope you guys check out Bob Gymlan if you haven't already. pretty much the most sane "believer" there is
Bigfoot was, "The Booger Man." Don't go through those fields after dark.
Just don't.
It actually starts at 25:10 You're welcome
People lie, people want attention, people exaggerate, the average person has a terrible sense of guessing measurements. Seeing something from a 100 yards away and saying it’s 7 feet tall?! I’m calling BS. There’s no way you can accurately know that, or what you actually saw. I watched a study being done of a 10 foot board placed in the distance and they had random people “guess” the dimensions of the board and you would be amazed at the answers. Some people said over 25 feet. Some people said 8 feet. My point is a person’s account of seeing a hairy monster in the distance and calling it 7 or 8 feet tall….No lol could be a bear, could be a feral human living in the wild. Those exist even today. Feral people living off the grid exist today. 200 years ago…. The numbers of people living like that were significantly higher. These “big foot” sighting could just be a wild person, dirty/covered in animal fur/skins as clothes. Idk, to me that’s a better explanation than big foot being inter dimensional alien being 😂
Alaska is a major big foot area as well. Cheers from willow alaska
Amazing video/podcast thanks guys looking forward to part 2.
People complaining about heat during Summer, like the people who whine about the cold during Winter, just really need to stop. It's Summer, it's suppose to be hot, it's Winter, it's suppose to be freezing cold.
I thought they were from Saskatchewan.
This is everything I ever wanted and more! Can't wait for part 2!
Do werewolves next!
Don't forget Leif Erikkson's account of running into large hairy people when they hit the shores of North America about 400 years earlier than Columbus.
Great episode, the content from this channel is always good. The only thing I don't understand, is the very odd choices of visuals throughout the video.
Was not expecting a Trey the Explainer sneak peak at what he's working on.
Can't wait Trey only makes bangers.
53:30 that psychosis was mental degeneration from a prion disease (Creutzfeldt-Jakob.) The Wendigo and similar cannibalistic creatures are linked to famine. Only appearing in extended winters with scarce food availability.
Basically those whom resorted to cannibalism would eat the weak first, such as the elderly; but when they consumed the brain matter, there was a risk of catching the disease.
My source is an Algonquin friend explaining it.. dude also had participated in the Sun Dance ceremony, and had puncture wounds to prove it.
He said it was a transcendental experience.
1:18:20 quick correction. Loren Coleman is a man. Very prominent figure, I remember him from watching Monsterquest as a kid. And I checked to be sure.
Anyone here read Devolution by Max Brooks? A story about a group of big foot attacking a small village in the mountains. In it the big foot are actually a group of Gigantopithecus blacki that have managed to survive to modern times. Funny but I bet big foot believers will sight this book as source material. Not a bad book but personally I prefer Max's zombie titles. Great episode btw.
i hope they bring up yeti the in the part 2
Sometimes sasquatch have been known to strip, but it is only to put themselves thru college.
I saw Bigfoot once but it turns out I was just looking at my own foot through a magnifying class
I can also assure you 20-30 degrees is not hot. Try 40-50 degrees lol Arizona gets a lot coverage for being that hot but here in New Mexico it is just as hot and the air here is significantly dryer because we have been in drought for 20 years.
Man,learn to spell first
Its mythological
Your parents couldnt send you to the right school?
ooh multi-parter
I just know bigfoot is out there. I think if we just wait. He will reveal himself when the time comes.
I think it’s relevant to point out the “rock apes” of the Vietnam War, which both militaries on each side attested to once the war was over. Something there happened, and their descriptions of the creatures don’t vary too much. Just because we’ve never officially “caught” a ufo and put it on display to measure doesn’t mean they’re not real. The US gov just confirmed their existence and the British powers as well.
There is so much humanity doesn’t know. Strong, Healthy skepticism is always needed in finding the truth in the face of the unknown… but it seems today it’s turned into a cult mindset that disregards and mocks the thousands of testimonies of people who have genuinely experienced something with others. The whole point of skepticism is to prevent one from falling into just any biased belief or unfounded conclusions without evidence that can be falsified. It’s not meant to be used as a tool to silence those who are brave enough to admit to the unexplained, whether they’re frauds or genuine people terrified of what they believe they saw. There’s a difference between healthy skepticism, and being biased toward the narratives taught to us by government and the education system to maintain a sense of order and disregard any radical claims outside the norm.
Give people the benefit of the doubt. If we actually research the taboo topics of the paranormal as a serious matter, we can then truly figure out what’s going on, and separate grifters from genuine experiencers, and maybe even expand a new avenue of human psychology if turns out paranormal events are truly just mental processes. Scientists seem to do “experiments” to determine the cause of paranormal events with a mindset it’s false, without being open minded. Infrasound, hallucinations, mental illness, visual misinterpretation, carbon monoxide poisoning, strong electromagnetic fields, and mass hysteria certainly explain for some of not most paranormal sightings. But with the advent of testimonies and video graphic evidence from authorities and the Persistence of anomalies caught on camera that, when analyzed by professionals with ever advancing equipment, can’t be disproven or explained away, it’s certain that something indeed is occurring. It’s somewhat ignorant to immediately claim it’s the souls of the dead, or other fantastical claims. That’s what usually hurts investigations, is assumptions. For all we know, these visual anomalies could be aliens or top secret technologies. All of which open different avenues of research and methods thereof. Who knows. But something indeed is occurring, and affecting the everyday lives of many.
Just as a personal comment, I’m fine with accepting any and all anomalies are of a mundane source, that ufos are just government technology that has been hidden away and propagandized as silly in order to cover it up, and that all spirituality and religious stories are nonsensical and just the product of human psychology. I’m ok with that. I do my best to not let cognitive dissonance or confirmation bias influence what I believe, but it will always be there. Yet, I acknowledge I’m susceptible to it just as anyone else. That’s why Carl Sagans “Balogna detection method” is so crucial to combat those things, and why it’s so important in any sense of discovering the truth. Over the course of our evolution, for better or worse, the discovery of the unknown and our understanding of it is what has driven our creativity, innovation, morality, and the entire course of human history. Don’t let the fear of admitting that maybe our sense of reality is incomplete and our self made identities being false scare you from exploring the unknown. We all owe it to others and ourselves to stay curious, to better understand what we do and don’t know.
To grow is to learn, stay curious 🙂
For these two skeptics to be correct:
1) Of the thousands of bigfoot sightings over the decades, many from seemingly credible people, ALL of them have to either be misidentifications, hoaxes, or outright lies.
2) Every single bigfoot footprint has to be the result of a hoax, including those seen in the deep wilderness.
A very boring episode I am sad to say… myths are not something you need to debunk for 30 minutes, nobody's watching your channel and find this to be necessary. And the subject is pop culture, the myth part is not far enough removed yet, imo. Love all your other myth videos, I am not trying to be rude, it is just my feedback.
Cheers.
Is science fully equipped to understand Sasquatch?
