The Full Babylon Bee Interview on Censorship, Cancel Culture & Anti-Woke Comedy

The conservative Christian satire group is part of a growing movement of new, anti-establishment comedy.

I recently did a short video with comedians from The Babylon Bee— but it hardly scratched the surface.

In my full interview, we go into the rise of anti-woke comedy.

“Leftists have become so…religiously zealous about their beliefs,” says Editor-in chief Kyle Mann.

Preachy establishment comedy created a market for something new.

“We have to create our own platform,” says Bee actor Chandler Juliet.

It’s good that comedy like this exists.

  1. Great interview John and Babylon Bee ! To me it's like the Jerry Seinfeld TV comedy show of old and a mix of Rush Limbaugh radio of the past as well. All being an awesome mix of humor and reality . Please keep it coming !

  2. Well, the Bible is very clear about how evil despises being exposed, so it's no wonder people get so offended by comedy that points out uncomfortable Truth, that resonates in their spirits. I harbor no ill will towards the blind. I wish only that I could help them to see. That is what Jesus calls his followers to. We're not the judgement (God promises that he will ensure Justice), but we are the messengers. We are the rocks that withstand the flood. We are saved through faith, and not by works, so that no one should boast.

  3. The alt left and alt right certainly has been giving plenty of material to spoof but I've never found the babylon bee sketches funny. Kyle said comedy needs to come first and yet I feel like the Babylon Bees politics always come first and the jokes don't really land. I'm not against conservatives like Greg Gutfeld having a comedy show but most conservatives just aren't that good at comedy. Maybe late night shows and snl aren't that funny anymore but Greg Gutfeld and the Babylon bee haven't filled that void for me. If other people enjoy it great, I just hope comedy can return to a place where comedians can go back to doing what comedians do, without the backlash and threat of being cancelled.

  4. To be fair, I don’t think there has been a shared space in comedy for decades. There are crass comedians, who make fun of others, and there are the classical comedians who make fun of themselves and their own ideas.

The problem is that the left thinks they have the public currency to wipe out the other side.

  5. I'm actually okay with John Lennon and "Imagine".

I think it's sane to defragment one's perceptions down to the here and now, every once in awhile. My beliefs are not so fragile and I don't think John's were, either. If you remember the song "Revolution," you know he actually slags Mao Zedong and his supporters, at the very end.

I believe in a free market but I think welfare systems are absolutely necessary, in the face of such hedonistic greed as the genre we see trending under our two-party, capitalist system — and, in the case of America, what's already in place is in bad need of an overhaul. It's such a relative pittance, it's as if as if it were actually designed to keep people down, rather than enable them. (Can you imagine what full-blown socialism would look like under these twits? Thank God we're dealing with a bunch of reactionary academic half-wits and not something more opaque.)

But, in my experience, if your faith isn't an actual, continuous perception in your life, it's not quite faith but rather hope. Faith is substantial and even the best of scientists employ it, on some level. Hope is more of a mystery.

Great slice. I had myself laughing at my own jokes for a good half an hour, this morning. The topic was Christian music and I actually managed to knead in a little compassion with my hypothetical rant. Yet, it was funny enough to have to slow down and wipe my eyes. Thanks for the inspiration. ✌

  6. There is one thing driving me crazy about this. It is definitely the most intriguing aspect and yet no one has commented on it yet though it’s the most important thing. And that is the thought that someone will be reading my comment here, making me nearly as famous as the person who posted the video in the first place. And I'm thrilled to think that maybe you who are reading this might respond to my comment. Or will the video poster be so arrogant as to think I should be commenting about the video and therefore delete my comment. That would be the greatest injustice.

  7. The mass Social Conditioning has become so OBVIOUS; yet so many people believe whatever is said by their overlords, they seem to have forgotten HOW to think for themselves.

Whenever a Socially Conditioned person is called out, and asked to BACK UP their accusation, or claim = they cannot.
