Talking about a few of the games I myself couldn’t be bothered to finish the 100%s on!

  1. I don’t blame you for giving up on FFXV, the game is a slog and half to get though. Especially for the side content, and it probably didn’t help that it took a good while before you could really move around in the game. And the dlc trophies are notorious for preventing the 100%.

Not only that but they went and patched out the access to Comrades dlc, forcing people to downgrade to be able to play it instead of getting rerouted to the standalone. They should have just made Comrades a stand-alone from the start.

  2. GAMES THAT I GAVE UP ON:

Banjo Kazooie Nits n' Bolts (Enough has been said about this game)

Dungeons and Dragons Dark Alliance (Very disappointing game. Absolute let down)

Final Fantasy XV (Like Motismal, I couldn't be bothered with the multiplayer DLC)

Dauntless (I love Monster Hunter. But this game… is just boring.)

Minecraft (I got tired of coming back to the game after constant DLC releases.)

The Elder Scrolls Online (I realized halfway into obtaining all the achievements at the time that I would have to drop every other game that I was
playing to have a chance at getting 100%. Not a good trade)

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (All I can say is, the concept of being able to run around freely while not being able to attack unless I have friggin' cards is just stupid. Whoever green-lit this idea needs to be dropkicked with the force of a thousand donkeys.)

GAMES THAT ALMOST MADE ME GIVE UP

Star Ocean The Last Hope (This game is the hershey squirts personified. Garbage story, garbage gameplay, uninteresting characters, a hell of a lot of backtracking, and at the very least 500 hours dedicated to completing this game. Just the battle trophies alone will make the most patient players puke)

Octopath Traveler ( I don't care what anybody says, this game is trash. I should've taken Dunkey's review seriously. Everything he said in his review was spot on.

Mortal Shell (Beating the final boss without getting hit was nothing short of a nightmare)

  3. I feel you on the FF15 DLC slog. I did do all the singleplayer content, most of the DLC achievements (barring 2-3), etc but I kept putting off Comrades and by the end, I didn't feel like playing anymore.

  4. If I recall FFXV no longer needs multiplayer for the trophies anymore as of 2018.
Also I am a trophy hunter (PS) mainly and any games that require online go straight to PC so I can still play and have fun with them.

  5. Very few games respect a quality 100% experience. Most usually throw in extreme grinds, bland collectables, forced multiple playthroughs and unbalanced very hard difficulty modes. Did them when I used to care about achievements but now I only play until finishing the story then do anything I consider fun before moving on.

  7. I 100%ed Red Faction: Guerilla in like a week and loved it, one of my favorite shooters to this day. But I could only make it about three missions into the DLC where you play as Marauders before I had to delete it. It was awful

  8. Drakengard. I got like 97-99%. There's multiple endings starting around 70% if I remember right. Almost every one is morbid and depressing. My friend told me to look up the final ending because I would be so mad for wasting my time for it. He was right. I've played a few games that have disappointing endings, but I don't think anyone's gonna top MULTIPLE disappointments in a single game.

  9. One time I tried to get 100% of the achievements in Assassins Creed: Black Flag and I did some pretty grindy things like loot all underwater hideous, which were a nightmare, discover every location, capture every fort, complete all naval contracts, hack 15 computers, complete puzzles to get a hidden outfit. I did all that, then I realised there was online achievements including stuff like reaching level 55, share everything with a friend, play every game mode and use every weapon. Also, I played offline, couldn't log into Xbox live because my email was no longer active, so I would've had to log in with a new account and if I did that it would mean I would have to get all the achievements again to get the 100%. Safe to say I gave up at that point and was really pissed off about wasting time.

  10. The only reason why I don’t have the 100% for The Witcher 2 is because of the dice game achievement that’s based on rng. I’ve tried soooo many times. Just can’t get it to work out for me. Uuuugh!

  11. I have zero interest in pushing to 100% on any game, even the ones I love, like others, I just play till I want to play something else, then sometimes comeback and sometimes not.

But I get it’s your thing and for a reviewer it is nice to know/trust they gave the game a fair shot and truly played it

  12. I just completed FFXV 100% and the comrades (multiplayer) achievements weren't too bad to get solo but it was grindy. There is one achievement that is basically just RNG that I've read others have had trouble with, but I unlocked it during the course of normal play. The challenge modes in the other DLC's were the worst part for me, particularly the snowmobile time trials in Episode Prompto and the Noctis fight in Episode Ignis.
