We start building the stem of the boat which is part of the bow. Very exciting! We also rent a sky lift to fix the leaking barn roof so we get a dry roof before we start planking the hull.

We are a Swedish family who have sailed the world since 2016 while sharing the adventures here on YouTube. While we are still sailing our main focus now a days is building RAN III, a 50 ft sailboat that we are building from scratch.   1. Seeing as you had a small problem getting the lift to the farm because of the road condition, have you thought about moving a multi ton boat from the farm to the water? Great Video.

  3. Overhere (Italy) you couldn't have done it. Operating that cranes requires a license…and the harness is mandatory. Then none is authorized to remove asbesthos but specialized comapnies. And last…if you remove, you must remove it all. So some hundreds of eur fix here becomes tens of thousands of eur changing roof business.

  4. First visit and I am impressed!!! I would suggest that when storing the wood planks, please consider using strips of wood to separate the layers to prevent any dampness ruining them. Looking forward to more episodes.

  5. Hey guys great video, May I ask are you guys doing any growing on the farm? I mean it looks like you could but that is a ton of work that would interfere with boat work. Can you sub lease the land to another farmer so they could use it? It looks like really good land to farm on. I have no idea if that is a thing there like it is here in the U S .

  6. You may have already heard but your last boat Ran II has been renamed to Tela Ru and I just finished watching their maiden trip from Coconut Grove in Florida(Miami Area). She is still in very good shape and a nice young couple are sailing her hopefully around the world. I am really fascinated by your latest project of building Ran III. It's going to be beautiful. Keep up the great work.

  7. Ek och epoxy är svårt att limma. För maximal styrka och hållbarhet över tid bör man prime ytorna först med epoxy tillsatt lite ethanol och låta det härda. Alkoholen gjör att epoxyen suger inn i den feta eken och gjör fogen starkare. Så limmar du ihop dom primade delarna med thickend epoxy och lite tryck

  9. nicely done., i understand europe oak is hard to glue on epoxy, some use acetone first to remove some stuff who makes the bonding not too good. do you only use silica as a epoxy thickening agent, this alone makes the epoxy a little too brittle, some people mix with some fiber, wood fiber like thinn saw dust…
