old blokes spinning SLR dits and saying it was harder in their day….typical
Hey man, good on you for owning a few small mistakes. Don’t let a few wankers spoil your party. I liked and subbed, all the best to you in your endeavors. I think you did some great work here, my friend from across the pond.
Cheers from 🇺🇸
14:22 You are missing a badge/unit from UKSF Joint Special Forces Aviation Wing
14:54 The US 'tier' system is also 'unofficial' It technically doesn't exist apart from NATO map markings where 'tier 2' would be marked as SOF and 'tier 1' would be marked as SF. Interestingly US Special Forces (green berets) will be marked on a NATO map as SOF, not SF. This is clearly defined in APP-6D (NATO Military Symbols for Land Based Systems) which is where the 'tier' system originates from.
You're absolutely spot on.
Apologies here as I was never in the signals world.
but I think you've got 18 sigs wrong.
18 sigs regiment support UKSF and are fully integrated, but theres a big difference between a 'signaller' and an SFC (special forces communicator).
SFCs do their own selection process (which includes a hills phase) once successful these are the guys that join 264 signals and work directly along side the sabre squadrons.
what I mean by that, is each sabre squadron has their own troop of SFCs (264 guys) that live and work with the 'badged cohort' the 18 sigs 'specialist' dont and are brought in with their capabilities as theyre required.
I just want to clear that up, because as with any unit that goes through hardship to earn their title they deserve the recognition.
*I am willing to stand corrected though as, like I said, I only ever worked along side them and never stepped into the signals world.

Great video
Little fun facts the word commando comes from the Boer war and Afrikaans(my language), and the word comes from Kommando and the original 20th century guerilla fighters the Boer reconnaissance commandos
The British saw the effectiveness of them on the battlefield, and 40 years later, the SAS was born.
