  1. Another excellent story. Thank you for sharing it with us. I was wondering if you had ever read an old short story called The Werewolves of Luna? Its about a moon based casino that is VR gaming. the large tournament is a DND style. I wish I could remember the author. It must be over 30 years old. It predates any computer game like it. It did a great job of showing how addictive the virtual world can be.

  2. I throughly enjoy this story ,the emersiveness of the nation and the limitless imagination is out of this world. Man you need too sell this too a network we need a series at least or a movie at best .

  3. Unfortunately, people are starting to live like this. One Japanese couple allowed their actual baby to starve to death while they occupied themselves with their digital child.

  4. The dreamers, my oh my. I could have eternal debates about this topic. To much for a comment section. I have just an idea how to usefully implement this “experiment”, think about it as an educational tool/exercise. How much you could learn from millennia of experience taking into account how would you implement this learning experience into the real world. Maybe we could become too smart for our own good/health. Sincerely I was expecting them to be sent to the vault. Thanks for the story.

  5. Virtual Utopias was right in your wheel house ,as your world building is fantastic. Even so this is a uniquely amazing story. Awesome work. Elements of the matrix, and with real understanding of gaming addictions, and human flaws, and frailties. With a triumphant ending! I wish much success with your new outlets. you already are the most amazing thing going on YouTube. You are among the great science fiction geniuses already.

  6. It would be impossible for me to list all of the reason's that Rowe's prose is among the best of current writers but one of those reasons it thinks: he has created this vast universe (the Roseverse?) and he can tell a story that affects whole solar systems or he can focus down onto a single individual who has been shaped by the greater forces that he has described in his more epic and sweeping tails. The scope of his imaginings is impressive, but as always, the devil is in the details.

  7. This is an amazing story. What could you learn in a millennium of artificial life?
As an aside, this would be a great educational process to absolute mastery of the most difficult abilities.

  9. In time I believe this talented writer will be held with the giants of the sci fi genre. Possibly even surpassing I would love to see what a production company between PE Rowe and Isaac author could bring to the world

  10. Feeling stunned after an intense hour of immersion in this latest story. I can hardly form a single thought, my mind is so full of the imagery, progression through eons, to their final return to the physical world. How do you create and fit such an epic tale into just over an hour of reading without sacrificing descriptive detail, philosophy, portent and heart ?
    So impressive, so satisfying!!
The conclusion that we do not need to be gods to have meaning, just humble people with a right purpose is quite lovely.

As to a topic suggestion… I'd love to see what your wide and deep ranging mind could do with the subject of raising and educating children in the different environments of your universe.
Many of your characters are young adults and are very rounded , thoughtful people. It may be interesting to explore the parents' and society's approach and philosophy.
Yet again, a huge thank you, P.E. Rowe.
