  1. I dislike Disney as much as you, but I cannot blame them for laying off workers during the lockdown. That lies directly on the shoulders of all the covidiots and government who forced Disney to shutdown.

  2. Epcot was originally gonna be MASSIVE. like a literal Disney city government with its own city workers and politicians etc. With Disney at the head of it of course.
    Because disney knows best!

They had gotten all the approval, legally speaking… But it wasn't realistic for it to go ahead without the eccentric Disney at the head.

The watered down version of it and the rest of the park still got built.

However the majority of massive plot of the land destined for original epcot (behind Disney world park) is either partitioned off or empty.

  3. Wow this actually makes my experience getting on the monorail in September 2009 make so much more sense. The monorail was about to leave and my family and I were one of the last few who barely made it. We noticed there was nobody in the very front which we just chalked it up to being very lucky that maybe nobody knew they could ride up front with the driver. We had no idea about the accident that took place 2 months ago, but maybe would have not taken our chances had we known.

  4. I remember as a kid sometime in the mid 2000s my father convinced the monorail operator to let us ride in the driver's cab with him while the monorail went down its course. It was quite an experience that'll stick with me for a long time to come. Guess I was lucky enough to catch it before the accident happened.

  5. You'd think they'd go with "no kids in the cockpit" rule when that one plane crashed when he let his kids join him for a flight and they ended up playing roller coaster with plane.

  6. The Navy recruits at Orlando's boot camp were allowed to visit EPCOT for free, before the official public opening. I remember about half the rides were closed but what we did see was impressive.

  7. I moved to Orlando in the Summer of '88 and since that time, I'd made it a mission to always ride in the cab of the monorail if I could. At the TTC, there was an area you could stand in to ride the front (they could only take 4 at a time). It was worth the wait, IMHO. I was sad when you couldn't do that any more.

    .
a mangier that DOES NOT know how to do the job of the people he manages
i have had that kinda crap at NEARLY every job ive worked at

  9. A few heroic people in history have remained at their post when facing death for the good of others. Look up the wreck of the SS Arctic, for example… Austin Wuennenberg deserves to be remembered with the same respect. I want to believe I would do the same as him, but I fear I might not.

  10. I haven't seen this complaint here (yet), but on other channels I have read that some people prefer if the headlines of the chapters are also being read out, because it helps people with a visual impairment or people who cannot read for other reasons…

  11. Monorails are generally a gimmick but there are some places where they are useful such as Wuppertal with it's narrow river valley and it would be hard to fit a normal railway. However most aren't put in for such reasons but to look futuristic.

  12. I find it strange that the trains can go two directions. Any one track line with multiple trains I've ever seen has all the trains move in the same direction at the same speeds, and usually they all stop and go at the same times.
