  1. THEY HAVE HYPERSONIC MISSILES. THE BRICKS NATIONS ARE GOING TO BURY THE DOLLAR GLOBAL HEGEMONY. THIS PEOPLE ARE DELUSIONAL. IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE WHY THE U.S IN DECLINE. RUSSIA INVADED UKRAINE BECAUSE NATO EXPANDED EASTWARDS, ENCIRCLED RUSSIA PLACE BALLISTIC MISSILES IN FORMER SOVIET STATES, HAD A COUP IN UKRAINE IN 2014 AND NATO WANTED TO PLACE MISSILES POINTING AT RUSSIA THAT CAN HIT ANY RUSSIAN CITY IN AN HOUR FROM UKRAINE. WE NEVER TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL THE HELL WE HAVE CREATED ON THIS PLANET. WE DESTROYED IRAQ, LIBYA, SYRIA, YAMEN. WE ARE NOW DESTROYING EUROPE. WE LOST EVERY WAR WE HAVE FOUGHT IN THE LAST 50 YEARS. GEORGE IS DELUSIONAL. AMERICA CAN DO NO WRONG. IF RUSSIA IS SO WEAK WHY DON'T WE FIGHT THEM DIRECTLY? WHY ARE WE USING UKRAINIANS TO FIGHT RUSSIA? WE SPENT 20 YEARS WASTED TRILLIONS IN AFGHANINSTAN AND IRAQ AND LOST MILLIONS OF LIVES AND STILL LOST. WE EXPECT RUSSIA TO WIN IN 1 WEEK> GET A GRIP GEORGE.

  2. Great analysis. Thank you for sharing. Professor. As a Chinese, I agree with 100%. Many people in china are blinded by the GDP numbers, and try to ignore some cold fact. We need to be more pragmatic.

  4. By 2050, whites will account for 50% of the United States. The more the US dollar hegemony harvests its wealth from developing countries, the more people will immigrate to the United States. In order to maintain social stability, the US government will become more extreme left. The answer is correct, you have completed the dream that China and the Soviet Union did not complete!

  7. 43:00 "When you have that sort of internal problem (for the Chinese) you don't take risks."

Friedman is assuming that the leadership has all the facts and is rational. As Ukraine showed us, leaders don't always have all the facts, sometimes they're deceived by subordinates trying to suck up or by their own delusional, paranoid thoughts. We don't know if Xi has all the facts he needs to make rational choices, and we don't know to what degree he is possessed by his obsession to restore China's greatness. Thus, we have no way of predicting what China will do, whether it's Taiwan, the SCS, economic war, whatever.

  8. Us and the world is not seeing that Russia send the small amount of men so that you foolish people will not see the truth of what he's doing to you and your people isn't going to get any gasoline from him and food

  9. So Russia has plenty of food and oil, while the West goes woke with the green new (great reset) deal and collapses. But we are supposed to believe Russia cannot win… Sorry, but if you read Alexander Dugan’s recent book, “The Great Awakening vs the Great Reset”, you would understand Russia’s resolve. Ukraine has become a cesspool of corruption and money laundering. They will be completely destroyed, and nukes will not be required for this to happen.

  10. So sad forusa only know how to lies and pretend and dreams that their enemy will be weak , we call this people stupid and foolish dreamer of other to has bad things, ? But instead their own natio are necomind weaker and weaker day after day, because God the mighty, will punish the evils and theyvthe evil will sufer and become weak then ever? God today will not sufer for the evils. Because the evils keep become more evils. So God has chose to punish the evils from now on, and will never sufer for evils anymore, and the evils will has to sufer themself for their evil wrong doings from now on. And we shall see the evils sufer terriblely from now.. so we ask evils peoples to do checks for signs of their bodys if they got any adnormals, and if has , are sign of punishment are onto them,, for their evil lies about others…..we must all know by now . That tell lies about others are evil sins commited, and God will come to him and punish him by manking the evils to sufer slow sufering deaths………..

  11. The power of US Navy and military is not boundless and unlimitef as shown in the Korean , Vietnam and Afghanistan wars .
When a journalist asked a Chinese.PLAM admiral what about 2 US carrier battle groups presence in Taiwan Strait ? back in 1994 , the admiral replied …." well how well those carriers battle groups counter hundreds of Silkworm missiles coming in waves ? " he repiled while sipping hus tea and the interview concluded and no more US Navy carriers ever passing the Taiwan Strait anymore , and that was in 1994 .
Today with the Chinese DF 21 the carrier killer missiles further limit US Navy confined in the West Coast .
Dr. Friedman is over chauvinistic for a world hegemony financed by credit cards.

  13. It is difficult to understand for a man of reasonable intelligence, how it can be a strategic failure when an army of 180,000 men attacks a hostile territory and occupies 20% of it against an army of 600,000 men.

  14. Russia invaded Ukraine because of non stop nato expansion in the former Soviet Union since the late 90s. RUSSIA siad in 2007-2008 that they would have to intervene if Ukraine and Georgia joined Nato

He conveniently omits the aggressive nonstop Nato expansion that continued to encroach on Russia's borders that broke the promises given to Gorbachev upon the reunification of Germany.

  15. The United States thus far is the only one to use atomic weapons in a war . Who's to say that another Nation won't step to the plate to take a swing?,…….. American society has been conditioned for this inevitability ever since the end of world war II. And I'm sure Russian and Chinese societies have been going through the same thing since then. How wonderful it is to live on a planet with psychopaths and paranoid violence. I thought that the UN was supposed to solve all this ?

  16. This old man is still living in the 20th century. If the pentagon's China war games result in either the US losing or a stalemate, this old man believe it is an easy win like shooting fish in barrel.
China has the capacity today to shoot back and sink US ships 1000km from the Chinese coast without using its ships or planes. If you add 40 modern frigates and 30 Aegis class destroyers to the mix + about 90 submarines and 200 long range naval bombers with supersonic anti-ship missile hypersonic missiles, does it still appear easy to you?
Lets not forget that the Chinese rocket force can hit US bases in Japan, Guam and Hawaii with ballistic and cruise missiles en mass. How does US logistic handle this situation of trying to fight a war with supplies coming from 10,000km away?
If you were to learn one thing from the Ukraine war is that there is no hiding from your enemy in a 21st century war with thousands of satellites and surveillance drones flying overhead.

  17. "Why did the US need to get involved? Because if Ukraine fell, Russia would be once again on the border of NATO."
Except for the Baltics. And Norway. And now, Finland. And Sweden. And if you count Kaliningrad, Poland.

Are you sure this was our reasoning? With the fall of FTX we're seeing Ukraine was a bit of a clearinghouse for American political corruption (especially the Democrats), as if that wasn't clear from Joe Biden's comments before the CFR already.

It's almost as if we're using this conflict to sweep Russia off the board completely. We're only risking catastrophic global nuclear war to do so. No worries, eh?

  18. "We could not give the Russians what they needed, and Russia could not give us what we needed, and that's how wars begin"

Do we want to end this war, and save hundreds of thousands of Eastern European lives, and keep tens of millions worldwide from starving? We probably could, if we gave the Russians Crimea and a bit of the DonBas. Then, we stuff the Baltics, Scandinavia, Poland, and Romania full of the sort of armaments that are beating Russia in this war. Convince the Russians that the German experience at the Kursk salient was a walk in the park, compared to what further Russian attempts at territorial aggrandizement would experience. After all, effective pushback keeps you off the slippery slope.

Trade land for time, and use the time to establish defense in depth. Russians will certainly understand this, and probably respect it.

  19. China's taking Taiwan would present the United States and the global economy, with a few serious but surmountable problems (chip shortages), and would lay the groundwork for several more (continued Chinese aggression, questions about US competency and determination).

We are apparently building up chip fabs elsewhere in the world. What could be done to ameliorate or avoid the problems of continued Chinese aggression and questions about US competency and determination?

  20. Disappointing in its lack of objectiveness. “American” (Really meaning “USA”) exceptionalism on display continually. Not one mention that Ukraine gave up nearly 2000 nuclear weapons in exchange for guarantees of safety from, among others….USA. The rest of the world questions weather the word of USA has any value at all. Especially if the January 6 coup attempt had succeeded. It’s not just Russia and China that are unstable.
