  1. There were quite a few good options for a death blow in the 2015 WS. You could say the Murphy error, like you have here, or you could say Hosmer’s mad dash toward home to tie game 5 in the 9th inning where Lucas Duda’s errant throw allowed the royals to take it to extras. ….Or you could say Chrisian Colon coming into game 5 as a pinch hitter in the 12th and getting the game-winning RBI in his only WS at-bat. ….Or you could say Lorenzo Cain’s bases-loaded double in the 12th inning of game 5 which crushed the realistic hopes of a comeback by the Mets. ….Or you could say Wade Davis coming out to pitch the bottom of the 12th in game 5 when everybody knew how untouchable he’d been that entire series, that entire season, and even the entirety of 2014. ….Heck, I’d even throw in Alex Gordon’s game tying homer in the bottom of the 9th in game 1, Alcedis Escobar’s inside the park homer on the first pitch the royals saw that series, or Johnny Cueto pitching a complete game gem in game 2 because all of those were so demoralizing to the Mets and kinda kept the momentum in the Royals’ favor throughout the 2015 WS, even though the Mets won game 3.

  2. As a Rays fan, I remember them taking out Snell in game 6. My whole family was screaming at the TV. We love Kevin Cash as a manager… but that was close to a breaking point.

  3. Not gonna lie, when schwarber hit the solo home run in game 6 last year, I genuinely had PTSD to the 2019 World Series. Then some left fielder/ designated hitter named Yordaddy came up and cranked a moon shot and my ptsd went away lol

  4. I think you made a lot of good points. But in 2014, Madison Bumgarner was his own Death Blow. Morse's single/RBI came early enough that the Royals probably felt they had enough time and opportunity to come back. But watching MadBum striding toward the mound had to be a killer. And then Joe Panik fed that flip to Brandon Crawford, and after that ninth-inning fumble in the outfield, MadBum calmly retired the next batters. Lights out.

  5. 2011 with David Freese was an all-time death blow. I remember watching that live like it was yesterday and thinking “holy shit, the Rangers really just lost that.”

  6. As a Braves fan, Soler's bomb in game 6 was the death blow. Remember, Atlanta sports was still infamous for choking back then. The back to back homers in game 4 was great but it didn't feel like the series was over (see game 5). That 3 run nuke over the train tracks was the moment I fully believed we were going to win the World Series.

  8. I would be with you on the back to back hr in 2021 being the death blow except we are talking about an Atlanta team in a close out situation… we've been here before was the mood here. The death blow in the series was the homerun that I think is still in orbit. I would also posit that there are 2 other potential death blows for that series. 1 Getting past the Dodgers for the Braves was colossal they had momentum as quite possibly the hottest team in baseball since August 1st that year. The other deathblow was that the Astros came to Atlanta saw that we still have a "functioning" (debatable) amusement park with Six Flags over Georgia with a stacked ride line up and they got depressed because Astro World was no more which meant Astro no World series.

  9. You should do a year by year top 10 baseball series like you do with that other small channel that no one watches. Is a block zone the area in which the catcher is allowed to stand to block the plate
