Wow what a week! The Game Awards aired last night and it was basically like a PlayStation Showcase, tons of announcements for PS5 with Horizon Forbidden West DLC, Returnal PC, Final Fantasy XVI, and Death Stranding 2 officially confirmed! We also have a massive update for Microsofts Activision deal, the FTC isn’t having any of it. Even after a 10 year deal with.. Nintendo. We also have some Days Gone drama, PS5 stock, PS VR2 pre-orders, and TLOU HBO. Me and Melissa sure are tired after doing this one. We’re gonna take a nap and rest easy knowing Stray won some awards.

Last minute news for the FTC/Microsoft situation: On thing the FTC alleged was that Microsoft made concessions to the EU regarding Bethesda/Zenimax which they then broke. The EU has responded to this saying no concessions were ever offered or made for that deal. Basically, the FTC seems to have confused the language of the EU's findings. Concessions were never part of that deal, just that Microsoft made a large portion of that upcoming content exclusive after closing.
Not sure if that will move the needle much, the FTC is already avoiding Federal court knowing full well they'd lose that. Administrative proceeding will still give Microsoft leverage to make their case and offer concessions.
I actually agree with the Days Gone guy. I mean…he didn’t lie? And he didn’t really throw his team under the bus, he’s blaming reviewers etc.
All you have to do is look at the Bethesda acquisition… almost everything from Bethesda is exclusive in the upcoming year…. what makes you think Activision will be any different? I can't believe people have been applauding the almost 100 billion monopolizing conglomerate.
Microsoft just needs to make Call of Duty exclusive to Xbox for a few years. Sony is being a salty bitch. Like making parts of a full priced games exclusive in a third party title was a great idea.

Days Gone is an epic adventure and one of my favourite games ever played. Former Director is clearly upset but I think he might be on point with some of his statements. Looking at the Game Awards announcements the future doesn't look that great, copy/paste repeat with new IP pushing modern agenda. Even GoW Ragnarök had its moment and we don't need to look that far to see that we're in decline just like within film industry, games are next.
Regarding the Microsoft/Acti-Blizz deal, I’m of the mindset that any franchise that was multi platform should stay that way, like Call of Duty. However any new IP coming from them under Microsoft is allowed to be exclusive. Microsoft should just treat this as a brand new studio for them to utilise, rather than hogging all of the existing games to themselves. Sony did something similar when they acquired Bungie but kept Destiny multi-platform
I haven't heard anyone ask or speak on the fact that if Microsoft was really about supporting the gamer, why didn't they approach Activision to bring Call of Duty onto Game Pass along with their other titles instead of acquiring the publisher's entire catalogue of studios and IP… It somewhat achieves the same outcome of bolstering the Game Pass library and allowing Xbox gamers to play Call of Duty and all other Activision Blizzard games without purchasing the individual title.
The current strategy of purchasing the whole publisher is evidence that the strategy is twofold, which is probably why regulators believe that Microsoft has the intention of limiting access to games released by the publisher on other platforms.
They've shot themselves in the foot because away from the "best deal in gaming" speeches and marketing, if it was indeed that, surely they would have put the money down to bring those titles onto Game Pass whilst also being released at full price on other platforms.

idk why but Mystic speaking on the topic of MS/ABK deal was like listening to nails on a chalkboard. i wish that these people who have no knowledge of business or likewise situations stay away from talking about these topics. just sound like bumbling fools trying to act like you understand. the entire topic was overshadowed with the subtle sony damage control/defence. Why can't Blizzard admit defeat with Immortal and D2R.. BIG mistakes. I'd sooner play D2Lod with Multires patch rather than play the Official D2 Ressurrected!!.. Sadly purchased twice (Windows and PS4).. before finding out it was CRAP!!!…. Immortal just runs away with controllers.. Dead Zone option may help..

It's alot more than call of Duty! All the YT'rs just focusing on COD man? Microsoft bought up all of Bethesda before Bethesda they bought up a load of ips when they bought up Ninja Theory Obsidian and all the other studios, and now they are trying to buy up all of Activision! That is alot of ip's and I knew it wasn't gonna be easy, and no, I can see through it cos I ain't invested in a corporation to a point I think the corp is doing it for us! They are trying to buy up as much as possible so they can pay their way to the top and that is sooooooo slimy! Fuk Xbox and Microsoft! Instead of taking away from the industry, why don't they take that 60 bill and make quality ip's which would be adding to the industry! Microsoft can't do that though! They only seem to be able to throw their money around and take. I can't stick them, and if they bought and owned everything ip i would give up my hobby of gaming that I have done for over 30yrs cos I won't support a mega corp like Microsoft!
I am not happy that Ps charge Ps customers £60 whilst charging £50 for Pc gamers, specially when they almost come out at the same time like the TLOUPI! It's starting to look like they are gonna look after the Pc fanbase whilst telling the customers that buy into their hardware and everything else " tuff shit ". Don't buy it if that's how u feel, well that is how i am starting to feel! So I am glad I didn't buy TLOUPI when it released! I will now wait for it to drop to about a tenna cos i have beaten it 3 times anyways! I have also bought the VR unit too, so I support their hardware and I have owned every gen of Ps! So if I was Sony I would watch how they look after the fanbase that doesn't just buy their games! I will happily move over to Pc if Sony start taking the piss out of their Ps custom base! Imagine the money they would lose if all gamers left and wasn't buying games from their virtual store or subscribe to Essentials, Extra or Premium. They would lose 10's of billions! These corps need to start to treat their existing customers like they value them because without the customers who buy into everything, the corp would be nothing but a name! How corps think is. We already have those customers, so it's the people we want to get that we will offer all the deal to, and in my opinion that really needs to change! We support them so they should look after that said custom more than any other!

This Microsoft and Sony bs is getting out of hand am a gamer and just want to enjoy playing games no matter what console I have every console except PC I say this because no matter what I will always buy the new xbox and PlayStation. Both consoles are unique in this own ways Xbox with it’s gamepass and PlayStation with it’s great exclusives
