The Cyberpunk 2077 Iceberg Explained

We got an iceberg to burn! Or melt, I guess.

Tried to record my own background footage but couldn’t get the capture device to work. So I gave up. Technology just doesn’t like me.

  1. You don’t need 70% affinity. You just gotta choose the right dialogue. My bad
    Also
Somehow I forgot to schedule the video so for the first hour it was out it was unlisted lmao. The first 100 people who saw it congrats, ya’ll rebels

  2. Didn't make the iceberg but there's an interesting cut scene from the Witcher 3 where Geralt would've traveled to a street in Night City and had the option to donate gold to a homeless guy. If you had played witcher 3 you could port it to Cyberpunk and the guy you gave gold to would be reach

  3. 1:30:46 Huh, so Adam Smasher’s design and general vibe is also channeling some Bubblegum Crisis energy in it as well (especially the illustration there, it greatly resembled the Boomers from that series, which also influenced the Boomer Locusts from Gears of War). BGC was another very prolific cyberpunk series in the 1980s-early 1990s and was one of the first anime both imported to the US uncut and to delve into cyberpunk concepts in the west. A cool reference there.

  4. What you say is factually wrong.

I played cp77 on its release on ps5 it was running absolutely smoothly and i didn’t encounter any major or blocking technical issue. I had a 80-90h game.

Few months later i got a new pc and bought the game on pc and did the same.

So yes they were massive issues when it launched but mostly, if not exclusively, on old gen consoles and low end pcs.

  5. Tbh the hate train surrounding cyberpunk launch was vastly over stated. The majority of bugs were not game breaking, there was very few that were. Most of the problems were performance problems on pc (which surfaced from weak builds and oddly specific issues) and the base ps4 and xbox one versions, which let's be honest about that. Those versions were NEVER gonna run a game like CP2077 well. Those machines are just too old and too weak. Can't blame the devs for that one.

People look at the launch of cp2077 and act like it's the worst thing ever when we have so many examples of other games that not only had launches that were AS BAD but stayed "bad" for longer. No Mans Sky, AC Unity, Battlefield 4, Battlefield V, BF2042, basically every sports game by 2k and EA, Fallout 76, Starfield, and many more. Nobody seems to care about them because it wasn't as cool or profitable. CDPR, Sony, and Microsoft preemptively caving to the unjustified societal pressure just gave more validity to the tears.

If you played the game at launch and you were on a base console from last gen, or on a weak or oddly built pc rig then tbh your problems are your fault. You should've done some research and realized ahead of time "hey, maybe my rig can't handle a game this intense maybe I'll upgrade first." If Star Citizen came to console people would still act surprised when they'd inevitably have poor performance and would refuse to understand that while optimization on the devs side definitely plays a importsnt role, the issue is largely based on their machine.

I played on launch primarily on a Xbox 1X, and I also played it on a base Xbox 1, and eventually a Xbox series x. Xbox 1X had very few bugs. Biggest problem was the 30fps and fps drops in crazy situations. The base xbox 1 and the series x both had more bugs, but nothing gamebreaking or problematic. Performance on the series x was great (pre series s/x update). Performance eon the Xbone was awful, but that's to be expected. It's a machine using tech from at least 2011 if not older. It's not gonna run cp2077 well under any circumstances without making the game itself have landing screens, poor lod and fog, and lower resolution textures and worse graphics.

  6. The first point about cb2077 having the worst launch of any video game is a bit misleading considering battlefield 2042 was way way worse. Ive completed 1.0 2 times and it ran fine on PC, encountered a few bugs here and there but nothing game breaking. The game itself was just suffering from lack of promised content

  7. Gonna be real with you Pigpen.
If you see a guy that looks like an actor or an anarchist that, quite literally, nuked the city, do you think of the silver screen, or the millions killed in atomic fire?

Because if John Cena had a PMC lookalike that got his hands on dirty bombs and used them?
Every time I see Cena on screen I'm thinking of the Armageddon causing PMC goon.

  8. 1:02:24 I hate this piece of trivia it's such a cop out. That lyric literally says the name of the game and then says "keanu reeves, cyber arm under my sleeve" referring to silverhand. It's obvious that Run the Jewels thought they were supposed to make a song promoting the game and then the lore team had to weave in some shit to cover for it. Still a good song but you can't take it seriously when you hear it in game.

  9. 50:10 if you go to Corpo Plaza and parkour a bit to get up high, you can actually find some monorail trains riding the tracks. You can't interact with them but you can catch a ride on top of them and ride it around NC. Not useful for anything but it does let you get to some neat areas for screenshots.

  10. Id love to see a co op mode similar to borderlands where you take on gigs together as a crew, or if they even set up heists / raids like gta or destiny that would add a lot of reason to replay and max out all kinds of different builds for different missions

  11. Ironically, Rutger Haur died the same year as his most iconic character. Well played sir, well played.
Edit: Coneheads was and still is a great movie! Dan Aykroyd at his best
