I feel like young men are kidding themselves with role models like Jordan Peterson and Andrew Tate.
Tate is basically Liver King or the latest Kardashian sister coming out with a plan to get tiktok famous overnight by playing a character, and while Peterson was a fine enough teacher, he's literally just a religious dork from Canada whos fallen down the American Right-wing money hole.
Every 15-25 year old fuck up I've met(literally my best friend from highschool) will wax poetic about how making his bed has turned his life around, how quitting weed has given him a new vigor when it comes to getting his daily tasks done and how limiting his video game hobby to Sunday night's has freed up hours and entire nights of the week.
All these people had this advice before, they chose to refuse to listen to their teachers, they chose to have screaming matches with their parents begging them to clean their room, they chose to get high behind the school gym instead of practicing with the bar and moving up in weights as school and college progressed.
There's nothing new these men are saying or doing, pimps have taken advantage of poor second world women for decades.
It's not about masculine role models, every authority figure or teacher in most peoples lives won't advise they fuck up their lives, it's just not edgy to listen to your parents, coaches and teachers as a teenager as it is to listen to a global criminal lmao.
Every nerdy social awkward geeky dork everyone went to highschool managed to get happily married, probably with a kid, all without the help of redpill life coaches or the Daily Wire and yet there are people who see themselves as better than him, alone, 30+, unmarried, no kids, shit job watching redpill content all day thinking it will turn their lives around by listening to other unmarried childless 35 year olds living with the homies for life.
Tate and Peterson are hot garbage lol
Masculanity is a response to femininity. Men get their shit together and climb hieirerchy exclusively to be able to mate with attractive women. With the rise of feminism and a victim narrative, in the name of equality, women stepped out of their gender role which is to select men based on grounded value systems. Also casual sex (low standards by women), porn, only fans, etc. give men a leeway and an illusion of sexual acceptance without actually growing as a man. Modern society has diluted and has trivialized sex. Ideally, women would have high standards with whom they sleep, there would be no porn or any way to cheaply simulate sexual experience and every boy would have a support and guidence by his father and the right sense of sexuality based on his relationship with mother.
Only part of the way through but this is awesome. Gonna send to a few people.
Good books in this subject are Of boys and men by Richard Reeves, Perspectives of Male Psychology which a book full of research and statistics on male mental health, The Life of Dad and lastly Men without work. These books look at different areas of what could happening to due to societal changes and other factors.
You guys are great male role models, like an authentic big brother figure, thank you a lot for sharing your thoughts it's incredibly valuable.
Each character in your D&D show having one of the four traits respectively would be cool. Each battling with the shadow integration.
Anyone who saw their father have half of his stuff stolen from him by their mother in a divorce, has no incentive to succeed.
It’s just going to get stolen from them by their government regardless of if they get married or not.
Greate video, I love the nuance and the maturity in conversation, not just agreaing with one side but trying to get an honest and mature look at it as a whole.
Eckart Tolle has 1,7M subscribers on YouTube, and he does YT Shorts as well. Obviously Eckart is not the one managing his social media, but still, it seems to resonate and click fairly well with the technology as a medium of communication.
another fire ass podcast
What was the book of archetypes mentioned?
I know you are talking about average men and women but I wanted to point out that when it is said that "women are accepted" at a certain age, you mean the hyper feminine, attractive women. The nerdy, unattractive, gay, tom boy, woman is not.
I think if we look further there is a crisis of femininity as well. 80% of women over 30 that are childless did not consciously choose to be childless. Many, I’d maybe say most women are told to find purpose in work and education, that men aren’t necessary, and they wait until they are 28+ to consider whether they want to travel forever or start a family. Many are currently in pain and regretting it.
Magician, king, warriors… guys what are you talking about?? D&D?? Completely lost in the second part
No Crisis. Just stop listening to women.
It's not a crisis of masculinity, it's a crisis of maturity. Can't stay 14 forever, lads.
I will say this is why being in the Boy Scouts was a great experience for me. I was in a great troop that actually did survival training and month long hikes that kept the older guys around. It was great male camaraderie where as you became older you were expected to teach and regulate the younger guys because that was your responsibility. Pretty much everyone stuck around until high school graduation and earned their Eagle Award
Feminism whenever women are failing: It's a systematic issue and we must change the system.
Feminism whenever men are failing: It's their own fault and they need to pull themselves by their bootstraps.
Such a great episode. Definitely down for more on this topic, especially King, Warrior, Magician, Lover
Charlie is acting like he never heard of no more mr nice guy before. But him and Ben have discussed this extensively in the past. I know this is a “new” podcast but it seems disingenuous making out these topics are new for him.
