The Conservative Party looks like it’s heading for a severe defeat. To this I simply say good and want to put the boot into them.

(Like Bart Simpson on a chalk board) I hate bourgeois “democracy”. I hate bourgeois “democracy”. I hate bourgeois “democracy”.
Huge fan of Podcasting is Praxis for a while, so you can guess I was never going to vote Tory. Really wish Labour wasn't getting into power, as a trans woman; I look forward to you going in on them
I think the Tories will look back on 2010-2024 as their greatest ever time in office. They’ve achieved everything they’ve always dreamed of. Wealth transferred from ordinary people to the super rich, their true raison d'etre. Delivered their flagship policy of economic isolationism. Brought public services, especially the NHS, to the brink of collapse. Decimated the welfare state. Shifted the Overton window so much to the right that the Labour shadow chancellor is talking about the economy as a maxed out credit card. The Tories donors must be very pleased with the return on their investment.

So this video was a random suggestion by the algorithm and I had some time. My country – Germany – also has a… let's call it lively… immigration debate. I clearly recognize, that when you offer transit options into the UK for migrants to start the asylum process you actually stop the boats. Regular transit of the channel costs a fraction of using human traffickers. But that's just trading one problem for another. So let me ask you the tricky questions:
1) Is there a cap on how many people you would offer transit into the UK to start their asylum claim?
The number of refugees (including internally displaced) is easily north of 200 million – so a cap is probably needed. But if you set a cap and the travel demand is higher, the boats are back.
2) What do you do with the people who don't have a legal claim to asylum?
3) Would you implement a cap on the number of people with a legal claim to asylum who will be accepted? If yes, what is that number? If no, I'll just point to the 200+ million refugees.
Appreciate the view from inside the UK!
