Who could have guessed that sticking to the source material, would turn out to be the secret to making a live action adaptation of an anime be a world wide hit.
On a non-sarcastic note, it's the windup and momentum that really make stretchy powers work in animation and cgi IMO. Noodles was actually some of my favorite visuals, though not when he supersized his hand. It's the implication that it's gaining mass, yet he moves it with the same dexterity as if it had very little mass. I'm surprised Tom Hardy's Venom didn't make the list.
I gotta say, I gotta respect FF 2015 for making stretchy powers look absolutely disgusting. That being said, I still don’t like it 🤢
Where is Love Sausage from the boys?
20:29 use the dub for the anime
20:56 alita any one
You forgot tucker from zoom
you are my favourite black youtuber
Luffy really puts the whole ‘stretchy powers are too hard’ argument into a box
Dhalsimmmmm!!!
So happy you mentioned Secret life of Walter Mitty. One of the best.
One Piece didn't get the inspiration from all the other media, all the other media got inspiration from One Piece. They are all One Piece References. Live action just adapted all the same stuff that happened in anime and manga which came way before flash and other live action tv series/ movies
You missed one. There is an other person in The Boys who is able to stretch. I think he is called d*ck man?
Who remembers Skin from the Generation X movie (Marvel comics)? He is a mutant with stretchy skin.
nah i want to dispute opla taking ideas from other shows, as for the most part these scenes where made over 20 years ago, eg. the bullet sinking into character stuff is in the very very beginning of one peice the manga
make video about power ups. there're so fucking cool
What I love about one piece’s live action is how they didn’t hold back with the bizarre parts of the one piece world at all. You’d imagine of all shows, the one that focuses around a goofy rubber man would be the hardest to adapt to live action, and that they’d try to make it too serious, but mans just ballooned up and it worked
Same kind of thing for the den den mushi. They’re just straight up fugly snails and it’s charming
surprised elasti-girl from Doom Patrol wasn't here
Luffy's attack feels as if his opponents were hit by a big giant tractor wheel, instead of just a mere rubber or slime
Incredibles 2 blew me away with Elastigirl. They opened my eyes to the power/versatility of stretch powers just like one piece anime did.
Pixar/disneys very high quality has been standard for so long that it goes over ppls heads how incredible these scenes are.
Great job on the video!! From the chill vibes to the informative history on things I’ve never thought of, always glad to see a new upload
Plastic Man is the most underrated Stretch/Elastic superhero of all time
Luffy's attacks in the live action are definitley based on the things they look like because they probably used it as a base for their live action CGI, but in the anime, it is it's own thing, especially now in the gear 5.
I wish you included Cab Calloway's rotoscope-clown character, Koko, from the Betty Boop cartoon.
This channel is SEVERELY underrated
One piece is absolute garbage how does anyone enjoy it Its so bad and cringe
No. I am never impressed with stretching cartoon characters. You are easily impressed. That is ok. Not impressed with characters with super speed either.
imo
stretchy powers works best when fully animated (no live action in any way) and mainly on females (don't know why)
The Krakens in the Dreamworks film Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken also have stretch powers, which kind of makes sense seeing as how they are very octopus/squid-like in nature.
i saw ms marvel and didnt even know it was orginally strecht powers but now its more like the green lantern
STRETCHING POWERS ARE THE LAMEST, and the most unliked😂 fr fr
Groot doesn’t stretch, he’s a plant who grows
