  1. Love the earlier shows youā€™ve done but this is starting to become a commercial for World of DVC every week. I know they are the major sponsors, but I enjoy the evaluations, reviews, best/worse lists from the past. With that said, Iā€™ll continue to watch

  2. You would be surprised how fast the "break even" point is with 300 points at the Riviera. For my family, it was 5 – 7 trips depending on the time of year and room type compared to the rack rate if you did cash bookings.

  3. Would you say a family from the UK is better buying resale contracts & buying an annual pass to cover 2 trips under that pass & get those food/merchandise discounts rather than buying a direct contract to get the DVC direct discounts? Xx

  4. I haven't financed a contract, but instead of people thinking, "I shouldn't finance a vacation I can't afford," maybe they should think, "I can afford these vacations by paying some each month. I just can't afford to pay everything at once."

  5. Great Episode! My Biggest problem with DVC is when I've called to check availability across the entire property and there is nothing available for points but there is availability for cash, I just about snap at them and say I've spent my money to Own a DVC Vacation and you have the gall to offer me to stay for cash? What are you INSANE! Rant Over!

  6. I am a big believer of "buy where you want to stay". I want to make my reservations at the 11 month mark and can only do that if i have enough home points at that resort. We split our contracts at different resorts (VGF/BWV/Poly) so that we can alternate resorts every year. Rarely have i changed at 7 months – only when our vacation date plans changed-(thank you COVID) and i had to scramble. Luckily we were able to switch from a December vacation to Bay Lake Tower in February.

  7. Friends of mine that live in Florida. Feel like they get Florida rates to go to hotels and stay at DVC hotels so they do not think DVC is right for their family. They feel that the Florida rates that they get or going at certain times of the year where there are major discounts for alani does not equal out to getting a DVC contract.

  8. And if your looking for Crack? LOL! I think we all know where Dani Metzker was going. Did it have anything to do with a person named Hunter? Do we even have Equal Justice in our Country?

  9. Pete is right! I believe a DVC Timeshare is the only Timeshare that goes up in value. I do not know about the future with a DVC Timeshare. My WorldMark Timeshare never went up in value. The only positive thing about purchasing a WorldMark Timeshare on the secondary market. Is you can purchase a one week stay in a 1 or 2 bedroom for only 3 to 4 thousand dollars. You can than join the Interval International Exchange Company. To exchange in to a DVC Timeshare. Talk about SAVING MONEY!! WOW!

  10. I'm truly glad financing worked out well for Paul and Amy, but as Pete said earlier in the show, past performance does not guarantee future performance. I bought a 160 point contract at Animal Kingdom Villas two years ago at the higher price Amy compared hers to, $135 pp to be exact. My contract is currently worth considerably less than what I paid–there was a bit of a bubble in 2021. If I'd financed my contract, I'd be paying interest on a contract that's worth less than I paid. While it's a bummer that I paid more than if I'd waited, at least I've been enjoying my DVC stays and not paying interest. I think Amy should've mentioned the possibility of prices going down in the interim rather than up.

  11. I have given DVC trips as birthday gifts to my grandchildren ( one as a 21st birthday[ Dec 22 ] for him and 6 friends. They had a great New Year's! And one granddaughter has celebrated her birthdays every year since she is 7 ( she'll be 18 this summer). A co worker got married and couldn't do a honeymoon, until my wedding gift of a week at OKW.
I could never be as generous to all of my family, not to mention all the personal vacations and family gathering we hosted. SO happy with our decision to buy

  12. Clearly Monera is tired of being called a crack dealer. I would be so uncomfortable if someone was calling my company that. I think viewers have to cringe too. Read the room, Pete.

  13. True story, Long story ( sorry) 2001 we took a timeshare ā€œcruiseā€ we had never even seen a cruise ship. We thought wow this is big until we pulled into dock next to a real cruise ship and had to look upšŸ˜‚. We did buy that timeshare, then went on to the next place, cancelled the first timeshare and bought there, had buyerā€™s remorse and cancelled that too. Next year we bought Saratoga Springs, got a discount because it wasnā€™t opening until April 2003. I think we got our buy back within the first couple years. We went 3 times the first year and at least two times for the next few years.

  14. Hotel is only part of the trip cost. With the price of tickets increasing, and removal of perks such as magical express & paid fast passes, the overall cost of a vacation has risen substantially. Iā€™m glad I didnā€™t buy into DVC and am forced into a Disney vacation.

  15. As far as buying where you want to stay goes, it really matters more if all you want to stay in is a studio villa. We had no problem getting a 1BR at 7 months the first year that GFV opened because we wanted a 1 BR not a studio.

  16. I can say Dani was great to deal with during our purchase at BRV this past March. Being šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦, it was a little bit of a leap of faith but if you do your research and some math, it becomes an easy decision if you plan to visit Disney regularly. DVC Resale reps were very professional, Dani especially so. Thanks!!!

PS : Amy you do not seem like a ā€œcrack dealerā€ in any sense. Tell Pete to stopšŸ˜‚
