  1. Nice bikes. I'll stick with my DR650 thanks for the off the road journeys here in southern New Zealand…

Staying with my 'Busa for the road trips. Those big Adventure bikes make no sense at to me. Drop one crossing a river on a bad day ? Try and pick it up in the pissing rain in that event. It'll be far too heavy and the cost of the damage incurred would be frightening.

You never went off road which is interesting too. Too scared ? I would be too.

  2. Triumph seems to be the "jack of all trades and master of none" in this group? Want fast on the slab? Get the Ducati. Want comfort on the slab? Get the BMW. Want fast on the dirt? Get the KTM (or the Triumph Rally). Want to be good at all of those criteria? Get the Triumph. No mention of price in this review. I know the Triumph is a little less than the BMW and I'm pretty sure the Ducati is the most expensive at AUD$10k more than the Triumph (that's around 33% more). Not sure about the KTM. I'd never take that Ducati off road either……but then again none of these bikes would be seen off road doing serious work.

  3. the verdit on travelling to Rome from Wales is so slly. they should be talking about tourer bikes. if they were talking Casablanca, to cape Town, maybe then. but on road does not really count as adventure, it is touring.

  4. For that 90^ of riders who will never see a gravel road, why 8 inches of suspension travel? Might as well buy a sports touring bike. (I own the KTM and if I never expected to see a dirt road I'd probably trade it in for something with similar tech, a four cylinder engine and a lower seat height.) Seems to me that the price of the bikes should be part of the conversation too.
