Almost 40 years ago, one of the most advanced and largest exploratory vessels Starfleet ever put into service to date graced our screens. Initially attracting less than favourable attention for daring to continue the voyages in the service of the Federation, it quickly became one of the most iconic Starships ever to sail the small AND big screens. Can you guess what I’m talking about yet- well, of course, you do. The title gave it away.

  1. Many wrongs in this video… …. The cannon blueprints and many other sources show and say the third torpedo bay in on the front or the saucor. Also the saucor has 6 phaser arrays not 2, 2 a top and bottom the rear of the saucor, each side the impulse engine.

  2. The only argument I would make about the Constitution separation is that it was ONLY an emergency procedure, acting as a life-raft, allowing for it to safely crash land on a planet. Unlike the Galaxy class, it couldn't reattach itself, and required a shipyard to properly reconnect. It is a long-standing part of the specifications. You even claim we "never" see it on screen and then bring up this requirement when it was finally shown? The Galaxy is clearly the superior vessel, with the first (but not last) able to separate and reattach on a whim, but that doesn't mean we just ignore what we knew and finally saw.

Like Boba-Fett's knee-rockets, it was something we saw and were excited to finally see acknowledged.

  3. IMHO they ruined the only modern star trek series to do star trek right by having the new enterprise G the old titan. God why did they do this? its a disgrace to the name enterprise and a ridicules successor the the E-F. Now we are stuck with a piece of ugly garbage as cannon for the E-G. Why? Whoever decided this should be ashamed and not be allowed to make any ST decision again.

  4. Just a few extra notes. You forgot the Galaxy class ships in Voyager the alternate future USS Challenger under Captain La forge. Several that was seen under construction along with Voyager at Utopia Planitia in the episode Relativity and Several unnamed Galaxy's that welcomed Voyager home in Endgame. Finally you forgot the USS Venture the enhanced Galaxy class ship with added phasers on the nacelles that docked at DS9 at the end of Way of the Warrior episode ( the USS Magellan is also believed to be a Galaxy class as she is named along side the Venture by Sisko in Favour the Bold episode ) also no other Galaxy class ships were lost to the Dominion in DS9 after the USS Odyssey. Only the USS Galaxy was badly damaged at the first battle of the Chin'toka System.

  5. I feel the "Initial -D" joke was a missed opportunity. Should have played that music while showing the ship "drifting" through the giant cube ;).

  6. 😂 I'm so mad that out of all the funny parts you snuck in this video, it was the dang Team Rocket reference that got the biggest chuckle out of me🤣🤷🏾‍♂️🖖🏾

  7. Your right GALAXY CLASS ENTYERPRISE D is the BEST NO ARGUEMENT FROM ME now EAGLEMOSS LTD did have a SUBSCRIPTION BASED KIT of the ENTERPRISE D. it will take 3 years to finish and the price is INSANE your going to spend $1000.00 (USA DOLLARS) just on POSTAGE STAMPS over the 3 year that includes all the shipping boxes every month get 4 magazines and 4 kits known as STAGE and start cheap with 1 & 2 then the next month go 4 issues / 4 stages (kits) with a monthly bill something like $200.00 plus the sales tax plus shipping and shipping box. while customers about 1/3 the way though EAGLEMOSS went BANKRUPT then sold the rights to FANHOME for customers to finish 4 EAGLEMOSS KITS ENTERPRISE D one of them and new customers can start at issue 1 & 2 . however FANHOME dose not selling there subscription based kits. FANHOME gets the rights to sell it and not sell it. the whole thing is driving me nuts. FAN HOME buy the rights to sell it and not selling it. that is the kind of logic that drives me nuts I watched STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION ENTERPRISE D is in 5 shades of GRAY and EAGLEMOSS LTD ENTERPRISE D come in DUCK EGG BLUE WHY? and why all that wasting money on shipping boxes and postage and for 3 years? why can simply get all the parts one time in one shipping box one shipping postage stamp. and be done with it. drag on with this endless monthly shipping charges for 3 years. all of that is why I did not get in to it. and worry about shipment gets lost in the mail.and forced to buy that 4 lost issues + 4 stages to be paid for again. $200.00 + TAX + SHIPPING BOX + POSTAGE STAMP that made customers to cancel there subscription. that lead to the bankrupt of EAGLEMOSS LTD. and FANHOME got the rights to sell it and all what is going on is NOT TO SELL IT WHY?

  8. Crewed by about 1012 or so. Which always seems really small. The WW2 Carriers that Roddenberry’s Starships drew inspiration from had almost 3000. A modern Nimitz class comes close to 6000.

  9. I grew up on the films, dad took me to see wrath of khan, search for Spock and voyage home when I was 7, 9 and 11 respectively. That should explain why my far favorite Enterprise or any other ship is the Enterprise refit, or the 1701A since body wise they were the exact same.

I watched Next Generation from the start and it took me a long time to like the D. I thought it was too wide anf flat, and I thought the deflector looked like a cinnamon roll. As the years past though I came to really get a comfortable feeling with the D, I guess after 5 or so seasons it began to feel like home

As the years past and we got into the next gen films and onto the E (which I loved too) I really kinda missed the D. With the way it went down leaving just the saucer section along with the fact that they didn't recreate it with the E the way they redid the refit body with the A, I figured I'd never see it again.

    Was pleasantly incorrect about that.

  10. I was glad to see the Enterprise-D display its full tactical capabilities in Picard. The class was never represented properly due to story needs or due to special effect limitations of the time.

  11. Probsbly someone already said it, but: the stardrive section did not have a third, forward facing torpedo launcher. It had an additional forward-facing phaserbank. The saucer section was the one with the third torpedo launcher that became operational only after separation, but it was facing aft. Why? The stardrive section already had the two torpedo launchers (one fore, one aft) that would be used even if the ship wasn't separated. Upon separation, the saucer section would be left with none, if these were the only two launchers. So a third launcher is installed in the docking cradle holding the stardrive section in normal combined flight mode which would only be exposed to space if the ship separated.

Think of it as an extra poop chute revealed only when the ship dropped its pants.

  12. Nice video, but, really, the third and hidden torpedo launcher is not in the Stardrive section, but in the Saucer section rearward facing.
Hidden in the top of the Stardrive section is the 12th phaser array, invisible while the ship is not separated.
