18 'Dark' Bass Intros

Thanks to those that helped me along in my choices for some dark bass intros. I had some in mind but wanted to know what others thought of as a ‘dark bass intro’ as it is open to interpretation. Some of the bass lines here have a dark sound while others may have more of a haunting or spooky sound that is dark in mood. Hope that makes sense!

  1. I have both a J bass and a P bass and nine times out of 10, it’s the P bass I’m reaching for. It’s like the Levis 501s of musical instruments – it just works in every setting! Also, you basically can’t make it sound bad. You can plug it directly into your interface and it will sound beautiful

  2. good mix. When I saw the title, I correctly predicted there would be some Joy Division and Bauhaus and The Cure in there. I didn't guess that there would be that much hard rock/metal, but it was good stuff. I am surprised that "Lucretia my reflection" by sisters of Mercy didn't make the cut.
