Kay, did you finish your shawl? I can’t wait to see it finished. 🙂
What is the name of the cabled sock pattern that Dan is knitting?
Canadian English is closer to British English!
No, no no! I should have gone is grammatically correct in the U. S. , not should have went! Yikes!
"should have went" is incorrect on both sides of the pond! Just saying.
Oooooh no, no, no….."should have went," is equal to nails on the chalkboard. 🫢
Correct grammar seems largely ignored in the US, unfortunately. I find my mother channelling through me when I am silently correcting news anchor while my jaw is clenched.
If I get a pay raise, I will become a patreon! I just love you both to bits!
Dan's hat for his mom, there will be enough yarn for an ensemble. Or maybe a pair of thicker, warmer socks for his mom. All from the same sirdar ball of yarn.
Auggie the Big Doggie!!! I can hardly wait til that part of the show. I love it when my passions collide–knitting and theology ❤
Windschief in German means no longer straight, off-kilter. Maybe because of the pattern on the hat? That would be my thought.
Kay, your socks are absolutely stunning, and I already bought the pattern. I'll start knitting them up starting next weekend (gotta get my current socks off the needles first).
In America, “I should have went” is grammatically incorrect as well! It should be “gone” you guys are right!
no, that was grammatically wrong! you hear too many people using double negatives! I taught 5th grade for 31 years drives me nuts! I live in the states.
St. Augustine, Florida is well regarded as the oldest city in the United States.
Please believe that correct grammar is still the ideal, the goal, in the US. I am embarrassed by association. Apparently the young man you heard speaking on American TV slept through fourth grade English class.
Should have went is bad grammar in the US but you hear it everywhere, especially in the middle of the country. I call it past participle abuse. Have ran is another one. It curls my toes when I hear it.
Saint Agustine, Florida. The oldest town in the USA! It was founded by Spaniard conquistadors in 1565 and has the famous Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth!!!!
I clearly remember being taught never to use "and" such as one hundred AND one. But it's done a lot here in the U.S. Also " I seen" rather than "I saw" or "I have seen". Ugh! 😊
Great episode ❤
No Kay! "I should have went" is grammatically incorrect here in the USA! Ask my children, they call me the Grammar Police! Love you, Diane in SC
I love those socks❤
Wow guys sooo much content! You guys are amazing! 🤩✨🌸👌🌈🫶
Hello from Mounds Illinois.
Another GREAT episode, LOVE the Rise and Fall of the Monestaries…but looking forward to Kay's " My Favourite Blanket" as I have two on the go right now and can not wait to see the next section 😊Thank you both for all your hard work!❤🥰🇨🇦,Sharon.
“Ishould’ve went” is sooo grammatically incorrect in America! Things like this drive me crazy! Please do not judge our language ability by our sports players and commentators!😂
Loved this episode and I definitely agree that "I should have went" is always wrong. My US teachers would never have allowed that kind of grammar.
I actually live in a town called Sankt Augustin, which is near Cologne in Germany 🙂
You say maths, we say math. 🙂
Yikes. Chicken Pox Sox. LOL. The 2 yarns are not cohesive. Quite discombobulating to look at them.
LOL Kay. You are cracking me up. I agree the colors are a hot mess. And usually everything you make is colorful yet perfectly harmonious. That was an interesting and amusing experiment. 😂
I loved your podcast. Your socks were beautiful. I was knitting a long working on a sleeve. Happy summer
