We so often hear of mining asteroids, but the Moon outmasses every known asteroid combined dozens of times over again, and is closer to Earth too. So what would life be like mining on the Moon?

maintenance will require people, for the foreseeable future. Thanks for another great show.

With mobile mining facilities, it would make sense to have mobile refineries that fallow and remain relatively close to the miners, the faster the ore gets delivered to the refinery, the faster the refinery can turn it into a viable resource. Slag can be used as casings and then quickly launched towards destinations where needed, or delivered to the lunar orbital launcher facility the same way, where they remove the remaining slag casing and load the resources onto vehicles that use the railgun method of transport to get to orbital velocities or even launched to land on earth or meet up with the Earth to Mars transit, where the new domes are waiting for the iron bars to continue construction on the first Mars colonies before mining mars commences.
Your intro stories are so good! I get so engrossed in them every time that the discussion afterwards seems almost lame in comparison despite being every bit as interesting. You should really start writing scifi fiction.
TY SFIA! But everyone knows the moon is hollow.
Something about that video of some person in a space suit, arms behind the head and just kicking back on a folding chair on THE MOON is strangely captivating.
This has nothing to do with this video's topic, but I don't have time to wait for a more appropriate video upon which to share this, and I think You need to hear this. Based on things I've learned watching your videos, I just figured out how to use Quantum Entanglement to turn myself into a Sentient, inanimate, Slide-Rule!
…I never intend to actually do so, because I would prefer to exist as a cybernetic hivemind-of-two in a pair of android bodies, but it's possible without killing myself, and I at least have a thought experiment that describes how.
Perfect, was just re-reading Red Mars and was appreciating the Bedouin nomadic mining caravans
I don't like regolith. It's coarse and rough and irritating – and it gets everywhere.
Im so glad you began doing rhe narratives again
I really really love the narative episodes! I am of the moon first camp. A lunar base would be a huge boon to a Martian base.
God I've been eating good with these Narrative episodes. Thank You Issac! I can tell you love the Early Moon Settlement era of the SFIAverse. This lore is GOLD. Look forward to your take on the Early Mastrioka Earth era and hope Luna gets some love during that time as well. Really I hope all of our planets survive! Thank You for all you do for us. May not have time to comment but I'm always watching π₯β€ππΎ
it is easier for humans to stay on Mars for long than on the moon since the moons gravity and size is much more different than that of earth
Excellent show !! We are at the begining of the next era ! I am very glad I joined your show.
Sidenote: Everything you do that is good, you retain. Everything you do bad, comes to nothing.
Just like carbon paper. And you are doing alot of good.
PS: and yes God is real. or π
Has anyone researched as to whether or not the 1/6th Earthβs gravity on the Moon is enough to offset or even eliminate the deleterious effects of weightlessness on the human body?
Was watching an old Space 1999 show and I saw an alien craft that makes sense for lunar rover, you have seen these 2 wheel hoverboards that people ride by leaning forward or back, on that show they had a huge one that could hold astronauts inside. It can fit sideways in a rocket with the wheels against the rocket skin for transport to space. Instead of actual wheels with tires, it has WEGS which is like spokes on a wheel with individual feet, WEGS can climb up stairs or rock formations. When I saw it on the show it made so much sense to me as opposed to a standard 4 wheel car, has high clearance for driving over rough terrain.
I absolutely love it when he does these kinds of narrative videos
Louise and Clark. I see what you did there.
Never change your speech patterns Issac
Thank you for acknowledging the Futurama episode! It was the first thing I thought of when I saw the title
I dont care about your nebula. Get on with the vid.
Nebula nebula nebula. Snore
14:52 so much for the moon.
