great discussion of episodes 6 & 7👍🏻 I dig the shadow operative's gear & spaceship….the animation and writing are just fantastic….I wish there was a way to keep this series running because I feel like there are still so many interesting stories to tell but I'm fan, so I'll enjoy it while it's here, catch you next week✊🏻
I really love crosshairs quote of "Loyalty goes both ways", this is not only true for members of society, but also it's leaders. Palpatine expects loyalty, but gives nothing in return. This creates a new split of factions and loyalty, both political and personal, in Chuchi(?) & the seperatist leader, but also the clones.
Currently listening, but I had to write it down 😁 Thanks as always ForceCenter
Great show Force Center! Love the breakdown! Crosshair's concern for Omega is SO sweet because his worry for her is where Hunter's was at the beginning of season one. Now we get to watch the New Brother evolve his relationship with her since he has so much catching up to do!
I just DON'T think Rex would ever have heard the word "midichlorian." Think about it…did the Jedi in the Clone Wars cartoon walk around talking about midichlorians out in public, or was just in the temple? Was Qui-Gon walking all over Tatooine talking about midichlorians in Mos Espa? No. He even tell Anakin when he took his blood for the midichlorian count; he said he was checking his blood for infections. He doesn't tell Ani until he's back on Coruscant and has already taken the child into his custody. He doesn't Shmi back on Tatooine; all he says is that "If he had been born in the Republic, we would have identified him early." Jedi don't discuss midichlorians, probably because this is a secret that they need to hold close because if some Sith got hold of that information, he might use it to, say, identify and kidnap Force-potential babies or try to create clones of himself.
I fully believe that the fact that Palpatine and only Palpatine truly knows about and understands the science behind midichlorians, because his own master knew and used that science, is precisely why he is the most dangerous Sith Lord the galaxy has ever known. We never hear midichlorians discussed except in Temple Council Chamber among the highest-ranking Jedi, and in that one exposition discussion with Ani when Qui-Gon tells the audience what they are. I don't believe for a second that Rex was ever sitting around having after-battle drinks with Anakin or Ahsoka or any other Jedi and a discussion of midichlorians came up.
I agree that Crosshair is starting to find his worth, but I think it’s a work in progress. He has begun to identify his values, like loyalty and family, but is still unsure of his value to others… he had his impeccable vision and aim, but having lost that, it seems he is solely focused on keeping Omega alive. I fear that if he finds no other purpose, he will go out like Tech, saving his brothers (and sisters) at the expense of himself.
I hadn’t identified the deeper theme of facing your shadow self… that is really interesting! I don’t think Crosshair is literally fighting himself, since there hasn’t been enough time to create and train clones of him as operatives. And I hope the writers aren’t using Tech as a sort of space Winter Soldier! The shadow operatives, who I am calling the Werda Vode (shadow brothers) but who the Databank calls CX (Clone X) troopers, looked like regular clones, which fits with their origin as reconditioned soldiers. So a small part of me is worried that CX-2 is Cody, meaning Rampart either lied about his defection or didn’t know about Hemlock’s program. Why else would we not see Cody with Rex’s cell? If he is eventually unmasked, we could still recognize him by his scar… unless that was removed as well. I don’t think we would recognize someone like Fox or Appo as easily. Oh wow, are these guys going to become Vader’s Fist?
I am continually amazed by the job Dee Bradley Baker is doing to make us believe each of these characters is a separate person (or hound). And of course the score, sound design, and animation are all beautiful. I struggled with the darkness this episode, not in tone but in the visuals. Like Wolffe and Wrecker, I’ve really only got one eye to work with, and the captions weren’t helping much. Perhaps I need to turn on that descriptive audio option.
Maybe a dumb question, but are we sure M-count = Midi-chlorian count?
It makes sense in The Mandalorian because we were talking about Grogu. Why would it make sense in relation to Omega?
I'm still unsure what it is that Omega's blood sample accomplished that all the other samples did not. I know it has to do with midi-chlorians in some manner, but I'm not convinced she has a significant amount of the m-ch.
If it was just samples of blood with m-ch, the Inquisitors were hunting and finding Jedi during this era, so why not use one of them?

The lighting on Joseph really does make him look like a hologram, it's a nice touch lol
Thanks to Joseph and Ken! 💥
Ken's noises are what I'm here for. The bad batch talk is just a bonus 👍
