4K is on the high end for PC gaming. But how well can a budget sub $50 GPU play games at the high resolution? I tested this GTX 980 Ti to find out…

Can I bought this GPU from you for 55 $
Maxwell might be one of the best GPU architecture ever. It still aged pretty well
You should do a video on the 500$ GPU like the 7900 or 4070, also like the stats you show in the video but I wish you would show a little more gameplay.
I had a 980 GTX, bought for about £450. I was still rocking it and my 4790k until this year from about 9 years ago. Best bang for buck system I built for longevity. Still did 1080p well for most games! The pc still lives on!
From a fellow yam yam.
ProYamYamPC : I've had an opportunity to buy this exact model of the Zotac GTX 980 Ti 6GB AMP EXTREME edition for 110 EUROS….but I just couldn't because it's crap and at best equally as fast as the GTX 1060 6GB but eats 100 % more power. It's just such a crap card and so utterly unimportant that it's not even funny to buy it for 40 EUROS. The true legend is the GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X and GTX 1080 Ti GDDR5X….while the GTX 980 Ti would be a legend if it had 12 GB of VRAM.
I think the main take away is that at this cards launch, it was in fact a fully capable 4k gaming card. I'm sure it probably had a window there where it was a solid 4k performer, from like launch to around late 2017. I imagine compromises with visual settings had to be made more and more from 2018 onward. I could have got a GTX 980 TI back in 2017, but I went with a GTX 1080 for my FX-8350 build. NewEgg had Gigabyte's vanilla GTX 1080 on sale for less than $500 at the time, so I jumped on it as it just made more sense to get at that point.
Some of these were actually surprising ngl
Fascinating, I got attacked for calling it 4k when I used upscaling and called it 4k
Pretty crazy if you imagine how long 4k has been on the market and how little people actually use it looking at the steam hardware survey.
I like these titles '20, 30, 40$ graphics card' that in reality is not only hard to find, it's real second-hand market price is WAY above what people state in the titles. Gosh, I'm so tired of these 'baity' titles. It's a yet another 'old legend', yet another 'kind of budget gaming', and yet another 'still capable today'. How come people aren't tired of the same-ish videos?
I'm sorry, dude, nothing personal. I wish people would just try and take a more creative approach to these kind of videos. Almost all of them look identical. Whether these were '750Ti legend' videos years ago, or X card today, it's all the same story: things were cheaper, things were better, it can still do a thing today to a degree. THE END.
980 ti a 40$ gpu? thats a steal that doesnt even perform 2x times worse than a 6600 which is usually around 200
Happy days mate did a lot better than I thought!!! 😎
Hmmmm, the gtx 980ti is not realisticly always 40 pounds….
Its kind of a steal to be fair…
Dont kill me for thinking that😊😊😊
1080ti can still do 4k decently if you are playing esports or older games. But like with the 980ti its best suited for 1080p as both still have more than enough muscle and vram to play most games at high settings 60 fps.
Skyrim SE has a mod that unlocks the fps from the physics so you can go as high as you want now with no issues. There are also dlss and fsr mods if you wish to take advantage of upscaling.
wonder how well 1440p is with this card
Honestly one of the most based PC gaming videos of all time. Old hardware doesn’t get worse because new stuff is better. I’m gonna be clappin my 2060 super out for a long time lmao
If I had FSR back in 2016 with my GTX 980 Ti I might not have upgraded to the GTX 1080 so fast for 4K.
Bro really launched Cyberpunk at 4k on a 980Ti
i think its better suited to 1440p medium high or 1080p ultra.
Truly a video for the average PC gamer who blows the budget on useless garbage like AIOs, too many cores, RGB ram, and overpriced boards.
wow the 980 ti has come down in price quite a lot, $40 is a deal for that thing.
