Tesla Cybertruck DRIVEN!

“It’ll never see the light of day…” So says the perplexed gentleman standing next to what we have just explained is the production version of a pickup with first deliveries at the end of the month.

But here it is, the new Tesla Cybertruck – less a vehicle, more an A-list celebrity, hounded wherever it goes. But you know about the hype already. What you don’t know, is what it’s like to drive. What it’s like to pilot a 3-tonne, 5.7-metre, 875hp spaceship around the roads of Los Angeles…

Fortunately, TG’s Jack Rix has all the answers – as well as an in-depth Q&A with the Cybertruck’s design and engineering bosses on the tortuous development story.

Clear your schedule, here’s 40-minutes on everything that matters.

  1. 7 minutes in and I have a feeling Top Gear have only been allowed to review if it’s all positive. More like a sales pitch for Tesla. Top Gear wouldn’t have sold out for a car company in Jeremy’s day. 😢

  2. How I understand it – it has mega expensive exoskeleton, which will be ultra expensive to repair, full of delicate tech like adjustable suspension, which will be (again) ultra expensive to repair / service. After warranty this car/toy will be to expensive to use.

  3. lets face it, if any other producer came up with this half done fridge, all the tesla boys would have ripped it apart and called it for what it is. how is this the future of design? they actualy say that they rushed it and it shows. By the way, i like Teslas, but this is a joke! even they now its crap, otherwise they would have put the Tesla logo on it.

  4. Fun car and great engineering but its not user friendly. Its a car not computer, so all options in one screen is never good thing. Also there is good reason why in normal cars most important information is shown behind steering wheel.
